Equinox is an exquisite ship, a delight to cruise on, but Celebrity has slipped down to my #3 favorite line. Outside balcony CABIN SIZE was adequate for one, but very, very small for two people with very limited shelf/drawer/closet space. The ENTERTAINMENT, with a single exception, was lackluster and quite boring. The ONE great show was a cirque du soleil type called "Equinox" which was a 5+! Same old comedians, jugglers, et al. Cast seemed to lack any energy or enthusiasm with that one exception.
The CUISINE for breakfast and lunch in the buffet Oceanside Cafe and poolside cafe was typical and good. BUT DINNER, ALAS! The buffet doesn't really exist for dinner except for sushi, pasta, salad, and a limited hot menu. People are forced into the dining room or specialty restaurants. I don't like to pay more for "specialty", so ate in the dining room. Fabulous wait staff! But the menu was close to awful. Steaks were tough; chicken overdone; pork chop raw; you have to ask More for a baked potato as that's not even on the menu.
I expect good to excellent food from Celebrity but it is missing here. They told us that it was a system-wide menu with no variation allowed.
Since I am already booked for a June Med/Europe cruise on this same ship, I guess I'll figure out how to get a good meal. Maybe room service?
Great ITINERARY March/April: Cozumel, Roatan (Honduras), Costa Rica, Panama, Cartagena (Columbia), and Grand Cayman, BUT SHIP EXCURSIONS are poor. Book your own or get one while in port.
I rate this cruise experience a "C" for average. Less

Cabin review: Deluxe Veranda 1B

1B9274
9274; very small balcony cabin with tiny closet with lots of hangers, 5 small drawers in desk, 5 very small shelves by bed, poor lighting for reading; tv that mostly worked, great balcony, large over-bed storage shelf, bathroom well equipped, cabin is near card room and elevators so great location mid-ship. For two people cabin is a squeeze; perfect for one person.

Port and Shore Excursions

Best of Cartegna tour. Takes you to all the important museums and a church; no time to see the fort as our driver waited 30 minutes for 2 people who could not or would not follow directions and return on time. We should have driven on and left them to take a taxi as their delay affected all of us who paid to see Cartagena. However, Cartagena is still one of my favorite ports.

Portobelo & Gatun Locks
Gatun Locks are a MUST SEE experience but skip the Potobelo tour. Long bus ride to an old, filthy fort and a brief visit to the beautiful but also dirty church with the "black Christ" statue. We visited during Holy Week and there were a lot of Panamanians there to pray in front of this statue.

Easily book a tour at the port or just walk around. Be very careful in snorkling and scuba as one person died during a scuba dive from our ship.

Culinary Tour
Just awful altho the rum, beer, and rum cake samplings were good. Rum factory is one room with one container; Beer factory was also one room for shipping product (the rest was closed for cleaning); the Rum cake factory is mostly a gift shop. Not recommended.

Eco Cruise
Caribbean Train, Boat, & Bus adventure. A nice way to see the rain forest and very muddy river!
