It is all about the cruise line culture as reflected in the design, maintenance and crew including officers. Celebrity top them all and it shows as soon as you get to the check in area an then board. The ship is beatifull and while only 2 years old is obviously well cared for.
Layout is fine except cabin numbers are rather out of sequence and signage lacking or rather hard to find but a minor point once you are oriented. Deluxe balcony is much more spacious than photo's would indicate. Best bathroom ever and huge shower with panel doors.
Attendant Gracious Sidney provided great service and is commended.
Food is great and the buffet layout means small lineups and warmer dishes. Miss trays for carrying dishes and cutlery. Nevervhad a problem getting a table and clearing second to none. Loved breakfast in the dining room with friendly and polite service. Dining room meal selection exceptional and lobster tails always a hit. Brunch was impressive but it was difficult to find a clean table. Our waiter Menino Pereira and asst Raul Urbina were terrific given goog recommendations and friendly advice. The matre d was always interested in how the meal was and willing to listen to our comments .
The officers would always be approachable. Mike Gibbons the CD was the best ever such enthusiasm despite his corny daily jokes! Have a good break Mike come back soon.
Pools while small are adequate and easy to access. Entertainment from major shows to artist were great especially South Side Party Band yahoo. Bars and lounges all over the ship with great service pool bar staff need to acknowledge thet have gotten your order?
My ratings Out of 10 x cruises
Celebrity 9 x 1
RCI 8 x 2
Princess 7 x 1
Carnival 5 x 2
Summary Eclipse excels in all areas but the caring officers and staff are the key to Celebrity's success in my opinion.
