Spring Break Cruise with two teenagers, ages 13 and 17! Overall, the cruise was a positive experience and all family members agreed we would definitely cruise again.
Details: Embarkation in New Orleans was a breeze. Quick, easy, and well-organized. Arrived at the pier around 11:30 and we were sitting by the pool eating lunch at noon. Noticed that it was MUCH more crowded around 2 pm when the bulk of the guests arrived. This ship is in good shape and all of the amenities were well-staffed and well-organized. Youngest son thought the activities for his age group were immature and undisciplined, so he found other things to do. Older teen thought the activities for his age group were perfect and he participated a lot. This cruise was jam-packed with kids and families on Spring Break so the main pool and hot tubs were overflowing with kids all the time. Good observance of the adult-only restriction in the Solarium and so this pool was usually available and much quieter. Formal nights were very formal on this cruise with lots of women in floor-length cocktail dresses and a large number of men in tuxes. Seemed to me that lots of teenage girls brought their prom dresses.
The fitness center was crammed full all morning, every morning. By 2 pm or 3 pm, however, you could get a treadmill or exercise bike. There were also a lot of "serious" body builder types lifting weights there. Many folks using the jogging track on Deck 10 as well. The bars and drinks were great, but the waitresses in the casino bar were slow and unresponsive. It also kind of ticks me off that while gambling in the casino, you can't even get a soft drink for free. Las Vegas has figured out that serving gamblers free liquor makes them money; Royal Caribbean needs to get on the band wagon.
