Explorer of the Seas 2012

Sail Date: March 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Other

The WIBG "Wibbage" 94.3 Spring cruise with over 200 radio listeners. That is a lot of people to keep happy. Royal Caribbean did another outstanding job.

Five busloads made it through embarkation in less than an hour's time. My third trip on the Explorer - fantastic crew, great service, very friendly as always.

Food was consistently very good in the MDR and with only a very few exceptions very good in the Windjammer as well. Johnny Rockets was a nice treat.

Ship is older, but very well maintained. Very clean.

No tendering on this cruise - very much appreciated.

Almost no problems with lines or crowds. A full boat, but we never had to wait in long lines like past cruises.

RCL group activities were very well done - private cocktail parties, 60's dance party, trivia, photos.

Cabin review: Explorer of the Seas Superior Oceanview Stateroom Deck 6 1388

1388 - the big corner room on the back of the tenth floor. Best D-1 on the ship. Quiet, but a hike from the elevators.

Port and Shore Excursions

Beautiful beaches! Did a private beach excursion to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen! LOVED IT! Everyone was very impressed with this stop.

A few showers started our day but by 10am it was all sunshine. The only ship in port, so the crowds were manageable. Very clean, lots of things to do. We did the Kayak excursion, very nice. Enjoyed the food and the beach. A nice treat after the at sea days! Got to get a Labrodoozey!

Half a day is not much time to experience San Juan. Took the free bus up to El Morro and walked back down. Done most of the other excursions. Bacardi Rum tour was well received, or was it the Bacardi Rum that was well received?

Scenic Railway

Railway was one of the nicest experiences of the trip. Well worth the price.

One of my favorite islands! Did a private sailboat excursion, then the water taxi to town for shopping. This is the place to buy everything. Beautiful and clean.
