Ship Facts: MSC Fantasia Review (by Cruise Critic!) | MSC Fantasia Deck Plans
Wonderful Cruise New Experience for US
My husband and I were looking for a special cruise to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary. We are Diamond Plus on RCCL, but there was no cruise that interested us for this week. We booked with MSC Fantasia since it the ports we wanted.

We flew to Rome and spent the day before in Rome. We used a car service to bring us to the port.

The Ship was beautiful, my husband noted not one bit of rust. We were greeted at the dock by a butler who who will his associates took all our luggage. We were whisked to 15th floor for check in. Our luggage arrived to our room before we arrived. We had YC1 the room had a large walk in closet and a bathroom with a tub. We asked for a bucket of ice since we found most cruises the refrig does not cool our beverages. The linens and towels are high quality.

We explored the Yacht Club, had a great lounge and upstairs a private pool and sun area. Everything is beautiful and well appointed. We tour the ship, the public areas are also beautiful. We are asked to attend an English speaking orientation, they go over the safety procedures and we meet our " International Ambassador" we also attend the general muster drill.

There is no show the first night, so we enjoy a dinner in exclusive dining room. The ship sails well and handles the ocean well.

We enjoyed the amenities of the Yacht Club which are a special area for breakfast and lunch, all beverages are free.

The Next day we stop in Genova , we choose to walk around and visit the aquarium. We went to the first show which I was impressed, our cruise director Daniella was charming. My only comment is I am use to live music not taped.

Our Butler Dom is wonderful and attentive, never seems to busy to attend to us. The room is kept perfectly.

Other ports we stopped were Morocco , Canary Islands, Barcelona, Funchal, and Magala. We enjoyed our sea days and the cruise.

Some differences we did notice from other cruise lines, no meals ( lunch and dinner) are allowed in the cabin, you are not allowed to sit on a bar seat ( we were told company policy), beverages outside the YC you were charged for. The Photographers took more unique pictures but a bit more expensive. We enjoyed getting a local paper in our cabin.

Other different experiences, such as being on a cruise and being a minority. The coffee was excellent. The service was consistent.

Disembarkment was easy as coming on. We had a wonderful cruise and would use MSC again.
