Ship Facts: Celebrity Infinity Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Infinity Deck Plans
Great cruise from Valparaiso to Ft Lauderdale
This was our second cruise in South America. We had previously sailed from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso on the Infinity (Jan 2009) and we wanted to continue the cruise to Ft Lauderdale.

We spent four nights in Santiago and had a great time. We love the city. We used a shuttle van to take us to the port on Sunday and boarded the ship around 1:00. We quickly toured the refurbished Infinity and liked what we saw. We chose to stay on the 8th deck, conceirge class. We had previously stayed on the 9th deck under the pool and it was somewhat noisy. We do like the Aqua class rooms on the Solstice class but on the Millennium class they are located either on the 9th deck (under the pool) or on the new 11th deck. From what I saw the 11th deck rooms looked ok but I question whether they might be noisy also, they are directly above the buffet and kitchen area.

We took a private tour in Lima and it was great. Lima is a very large city, crowded with severe traffic problems but a lot to see. The "gold museum" was unbeliveable.

La Serena, Arica and Manta are small ports with little to offer but we enjoyed getting off of the ship and walking around.

The Panama Canal transit was great and we toured Panama City the next day.

One of the highlights of the trip was Cartagena, Columbia. We took a private tour and really saw the key parts of the city. The old town was clean and appeared to have several good restaurants and hotels.

As usual the food on the ship was good but not great. We did not have a bad meal and did have several very good meals. We enjoyed Qsine and recommend it highly.

We cannot say enough about the Infinity crew, they have a really good attitude and were always pleasant and tried to please everyone. The entertainment was the best we have experienced on Celebrity. Most of the guest entertainers were from South America and this added to the experience.
