We were super excited for our first cruise as a family and we weren't too sure what to expect. Embarkation was a breeze. We had time to spare before we had access to our room, so we got aquainted with the ship and had some lunch.
Our room was a mini suite, which surprisingly enough we didn't feel cramped. There was a lot of storage for all of our luggage and to put our clothes away. The only one complaint for our room is that the bed (futon type thing) my children slept on was very hard. They put foam on it, but it's not enough.
Our first full day at Sea, the water got extremely rough and landed all of us on our back, or hugging the toilet bowl. Our excursions suffered a little from the weather, however we were thankful we booked with NCL because they offered us a refund, or credit to our account. Having booked privately, we would have been out of luck.
We didn't care for the buffet dining rooms. It was hard to find a seat and seemed a little crazy. We opted for the dining room, which was always nice and we never had to wait for a seat. The service was exceptional and the food was very good.
Unfortunately we missed out on some of the shows, well most of them actually. We did however get to see the Talent Show put on by staff. My suggestion is to go see it. The show called "fountains" can't be missed.
The private island in Bahamas was a very nice way to end our vacation. It was beautiful, peaceful and a happy place to be. After being sea sick for most of the trip, we have decided we will do round two and we are already thinking about trying it again. Apparently it was a fluke and the weather is usually calm.
No problems at all with Norwegian Sun.
