Great ports but not enough time

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Vision of the Seas

Began with 4 days in Amsterdam, which was just right for a thorough visit and to get over jet leg. Vision of the Seas is very dated and needs a complete overhaul. Agent said that it had been refurbished a few years ago but I have no idea what part was redone because the ship looks tired. Based on the leaflet that RCCL distributed on their future cruises, this ship will be replaced by Serenade ...

A Really Great Cruising Experience

My wife & I wanted to do a Baltic cruise. This cruise was of sufficient duration to cover 7 ports & countries. It was also at the right time of the year. Royal Caribbean offered the best option for a reasonable price. The lineup was too long. Although checkin time slots were published beforehand, right in front of us was a passenger from deck 3 whose checkin time was at least an hour after ...

Being of Dutch heritage, I was looking for a cruise that either started or finished in Amsterdam. There, we toured around to see the places my parents grew up and thoroughly enjoyed the sights, sounds and tastes that the area had to provide. It was very easy to take public transit to the port to catch our ship and we boarded with no issues. Our stateroom was quite nice, however the balcony had ...

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary for our 50th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We loved the dining room dinner food, service with Xinyu and Joachim was excellent. They made a great team. Also, our stateroom attendant, Wayan, was excellent. We were very pleased with the evening entertainment in the Masquerade Theater. The cruise itinerary was so culturally enriching ...

we went on the baltic cruise with family - because it was a great opportunity to visit these harder to reach travel destinations. The ship was just perfect for our needs. We had a suite for 5 ( 3 teenagers)- and had plenty of room and space to stay happy. Our children never ventured into the kids clubs - but rather we watched movies, played cards and just relaxed when not in port. We ate at ...

We spent a week in Amsterdam prior to boarding the Vision for our 12-night Baltic cruise. Adjusted to the time, acclimated to the environment and ready for fun our family of 6 were not disappointed. Sure the Vision isn't the newest, faster, shiniest that RCL has to offer, but she's intimate with an amazing crew and the captain was FUN and involved. Our stops were all very interesting and we were ...

We picked this cruise for the ports of call and they didn't disappoint. We especially enjoyed St Petersburg and Tallinn Estonia. We spent a few days before the cruise in Amsterdam and had a fantastic time, easy city to get around with a tram or combo pass. We purchased the IAmsterdam 48 hour card and went into some museums that we wouldn't have thought of such as the canal museum which was ...

We took a 12 night Baltic cruise on the Vision of the Seas in July 2017 and had a great time. Here are my comments by category: Pre-cruise and check-in: We did our air, transfers, and hotel through RC and everything went well. The hotel in Amsterdam was about a 10 minute walk from Central Station and was, I thought, outstanding. The transfer from the airport was flawless; there was a ...

Been to this area before, and we were ready to explore it again. I was the enrichment lecturer on this cruise and staff support was some of the best we have had. Audiences were loyal and liked what we presented. We especially enjoyed having the use of the main theater and many of the guests mentioned that they had liked having the lecture rebroadcast on channel 14. Jeff, Pedro, Eleanor and ...

We chose this trip for the itinerary. We wanted to explore each port of call and were not disappointed. We spent 4 days in Amsterdam before boarding the Vision. We booked the Ann Frank house and hop on hop off canal boats based on reviews. Also, City Hotel Amsterdam was booked according to the reviews. The information was "right on the mark." We were very pleased and would do the same again. ...
