Very nice cruise on one of Royal's small ships

We did a back to back on Rhapsody to see the ports we have not gone to in 10 years. The reason we did a back to back was to come off the ship at the end as Diamond Plus. I was not sure what to expect from a small, 20 year old ship. I was very pleasantly surprised. Rhapsody was clean and ship-shape. Although our junior suite was smaller than others we have had, it was perfectly fine. The main thing ...

Costa Maya an unexpected gem.

This cruise was recommended by friends. They had experiences that we wanted to enjoy also. There were several places in the ports that they recommended we visit and it was well worth it. Maya Chan, on Costa Maya was an excellent, all inclusive day on shore. Everything was included, and it couldn't have been more relaxing and enjoyable. We would take another cruise just to go there again. The ...

We travelled with a group of 10 friends to celebrate their 50th anniversary....OK checking in, but not much room in the seating area waiting to board. The cabins were not ready till 2 pm but we all went up to Windjammer cafe and had a good lunch. We got into our cabin(s) and all of us found them good and roomy and plenty of storage. The beds were very comfy and much needed sleep after a long ...

We are avid RC cruisers and wanted a short cruise from Tampa at this time of year. We had no knowledge of the ship Rhapsody prior to sailing. We now know they had freshened it recently and the hall and interior carpets were clean and new. The center of the ship for activities was done nicely with lots of activities. The cabin was clean with good bed and linens. The room steward was very ...

Warning Cozumel shopping scam

Had a great time on the Rhapsody but first a warning. We were in Cozumel in late Sept on the Oasis. At that time my wife was looking for jewelry with the orange Mexican opal. We thought we had found what we were looking for in the store Plateria Dantele 950. One of the new smaller stores you come to first on the far right as you enter the shopping area. The manager showed us the jewelry and ...

All the services in the cruise were excellent; the servers in the dining room were mostly very good. Our dinner servers were great, specially Tetiana (waiter) and Muli (waiter assistant). Some of the entertainment was good, but some of it wasn't. The ports we stopped at were great. The shores were very organized. But in our shore to Chitchen Itza we didn't enough time to look and purchase the ...

Having cruised out of Tampa prior to this cruise on Brilliance, we were certain that our experience would have been just as positive. Having booked a Jr. Suite, we were fortunately escorted rather quickly through the onboarding part of our day. Others did not fair as well with waits over an hour prior to check-in. First nights dinner was Chops. What can we say, except delicious. Second night ...

Relaxing bordering on boring cruise

We chose to cruise on The Rhapsody of the Seas as part of a casino package. The ship also departed from Tampa which is very convenient for us, living in Daytona Beach. We parked in the lot next to the ship. We went through the embarkation procedure quickly and only waited a short time for the room to be available. The cabin was an average ocean view with the worst storage of any cruise we have ...

Not bad, but everyone else is better

Did a Royal 17 years ago, but it's competitors [Carnival, Holland, Norwegian] offer a much better value. Thought I'd give Royal another try. Same result. They fall short in almost every category... rooms, dining room management [altho food was comparable to the competition], guest services, entertainment. Guest services didn't have account information for days. Other lines have it before ...

You get what you pay for

We chose this cruise just to get out of town for a few days. The price was inexpensive but, you get what you pay for, I guess. Lots of little things happened but for a 7 day cruise it added up to a lot of little things. Two nights we had loud pounding [like a hammer to metal] under our stateroom. We had to call security at 5:00 am to get it stopped. we slept in and made it to breakfast at ...
