This cruise had been postponed since 2020 and it was worth waiting for. The Grand European Tour took my wife and I from Budapest to Amsterdam and along the way we saw many beautiful towns, cities and castles galore. We also made some very nice new friends--a result of "no-fixed seating" in the dining room--whom we have kept in touch with and will be visiting in the near future.

Past experience with Viking was good. This was our 3rd Viking cruise. The first was Russia in 2019 and Italy, Greece, and the Adriatic in 2022. I honestly love Viking. You cannot beat Viking for providing exceptional service and adventure on this Grand River Cruise on the Viking Magni. We were new to river cruising and it surpassed anything we thought about a river cruise. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect and the majestic scenery has to be seen. We really enjoyed this trip. It was our first river cruise. The Christmas markets in the ports were wonderful.
The food on the ship was excellent. Especially loved the soups at lunch and dinner. The included wines with dinner were very good.
We did the included tours and a few extras. Most ports had plenty of free time to explore on our own some too.

Really enjoyed this cruise. It was our first river cruise.
I was worried about having only one dining option, but the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the soups at lunch and dinner. One night was a German buffet. Desserts were excellent also. The wine and beer included with the price were very good.

I just came back from a 15-day Budapest to Amsterdam last week. At best the food quality is very average may be substandard in most days. We had only two good meals, Chateaubriand and Rack of lamb.
