While we have done many cruises over the years, this was the first on NCL and probably the last. We splurged and upgraded to a suite, what a disappointment and a total waste of money. 1st let me say I understand ALL cruise lines are making cuts due to financial losses. This was our 2nd cruise on NCL (1st since 2008). We have sailed on RCCL the last 3 cruises (Anthem (2), Oasis). I also understand personal preferences play a big part so these are our personal preferences.

I will start by saying that we have sailed 4 times in the past 5 years with NCL and never had any issues. Last cruise, it was different….
First, let’s give credit where credit is due. The service staff was amazing. Our stewardess for the stateroom did a terrific job. We required additional electric cord to plug our CPAP machines and it was done promptly and without any hassle.

Great cruise on the Escape! Stayed on the 10th Deck in Cabin 10810
Crew is always friendly and caters to our needs especially our cabin stewardess, Queen. Our cabin had tons of storage for our clothes, suitcases, toiletries, etc.

I want to begin my overall comments by saying our room attendant and our server at the main dining room were outstanding. These folks aside, there seems to be a pervasive culture of mediocrity on NCL.

Wife and I cruised on the Norwegian Escape in late November 2022 to the eastern Caribbean. We are in our 60s and this was our 32nd cruise and 8th on Norwegian. We chose this cruise due to a different destination, Dominican Republic (Puerto Plata), and to try out the Haven on the Escape.
