We just returned from a fabulous cruise on the Norwegian Getaway after several years since our last one. This will go down as one of our favorite cruises! Yes the itinerary changed on day two - which saw our stops in Bermuda replaced with an additional day at Port Canaveral and a day in Nassau - but at least for my wife and I we had selected the vacation because of the ship and the dates, so this ...
We went on this cruise due to its location and its destination. Our son and his girlfriend joined us for this 8-night cruise out of NYC Manhattan terminal. We left on NYE and was hoping to enjoy the harbor as we left NYC, but unfortunately it was foggy out and we didn't see anything but a few lights through the fog. It was also cold outside, so didn't really want to be on the outside deck ...
This cruise was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. NCL has clearly reduced its staff and offerings and is in line with Carnival or lower cruises. We have been on at least 5 NCL cruises in the past (and Around 20 overall) and this 8 night trip was far and away the worst ever. The food was so bad that we ate dinner at the Irish Pub 3x. Shore excursions were cancelled with little or no ...
Sailed Holiday cruise, which was impacted by winter storm Elliott, no fault of NCL. Smartly, NY closed the harbor so the Ship could not sail until the next morning, and it was a good thing! Embarkation process was easy. However please read, and take your chances if you book: Very Understaffed ship, yet the ship sailed full, possibly over booked. The ship was unbelievably crowded. NCL did not have ...
We chose this cruise as a Christmas vacation. We would’ve had a better staycation. The ship is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. NCL packs their guests onto the ship like sardines in a can. Freestyle cruising this is not. The venues aren’t large enough to accommodate big groups of people. Any of the entertainment you have to make reservations for. The cuisine onboard is sub par ...
Do you know what you get when you go on a ship with a capacity of 3,963 and there are 5900 people on board, the Worst Cruise Ever. I sailed on the Getaway out of NYC on 12/23/22. The weather was horrible (which I know was not NCLs fault) so we were stuck in port until 12/24. This resulted in a tax on every drink that we ordered for the time we were in port. The excursion to the private island ...
Wow, where do I even start. This was a trip for my father in-laws birthday celebration. We get there it's delayed 12 hours due to the inclement weather (totally understandable). First night my inlaws have absolutely no HEAT (mind you NYC was at 15 degrees) they were freezing, and of course my father in law got sick. Day 2 room still freezing, vents blowing cold air, and we are all wondering ...
Chose this cruise for itinerary and was part of on going cruise from Queen Mary 2 .
As soon as we got to New York embarcation for getaway the chaos and noise ensued .
Pros .Cabin spacious with good shower .
Great cabin service
Good selection of food and restaurants.
Professional evening entertainment.
Waiting and bar staff working so hard and still able to smile .
Cons ...
In looking for a reasonably priced Christmas Cruise we found the Dec. 18-23rd cruise to Bermuda on the Getaway. While we are loyal to Royal Caribbean (Diamond members) the dates fit our grandchildren’s Christmas break, offered activities they would enjoy, and a good price. It was very disappointing overall.
The rope course, and racing water slides the grandkids would enjoy were not open any ...
We wanted a short getaway with my 3 elementary school-age granddaughters. We love cruising.
Since 1981 we have cruised over 100 times, on many different lines worldwide and we have certainly seen the industry and the ships evolve to the luxurious vessels at sea today.
But, NCL has away to go to catch up in the evolutionary chain.
By far, the biggest problem is communication...or the lack ...
