Picked Cruise because port was nearest in mid-winter, 10 days and went where we wanted to go. Left from New York Manhattan and was full with New Yorkers, Brits and French. Boarding for wheelchair was slow (1 hour+ wait).
Food was tops, service especially cheerful. Specialty restaurants were outstanding! Variety and quality of food at buffets was very good! Good hygiene.
Cabin service was ...
I have never cruised before, and I took the 8-night cruise out of New York to the Bahamas and Florida with an experienced cruiser as my companion because the travel dates on this Norwegian trip worked for our schedules and we could avoid flying to the departure point in Manhattan. I had low expectations, but Norwegian still managed to be a complete disappointment. Embarkation was pretty orderly ...
Wished I had read NCL reviews before booking our cruise. This was only our second cruise. First cruise was with Royal Caribbean and had nothing but great memories from it. Food was fantastic and the Port calls and overnights that were signed up for were provided as expected.
Maybe due to our previous experience on the RC cruise and being kind of green with cruises we were shocked to see ...
Back from an 8 day sail from NYC to FL/Bahamas. Here’s the Good, Bad, and Ugly.
For some background, this was my 23rd sail with NCL, my 24th cruise overall. The majority of my NCL’s are reviewed on here. I had a family balcony on deck 13, traveling solo.
The Good:
Service by the crew was excellent. Hearing rumblings online with the change to once a day cleaning, I found my steward ...
We always cruise NCL. This trip was special because 2 of my children had never sailed before. As usual the food was great. We did three specialty dinners. Cagney's, Morderno and Ocean Blue. We enjoyed the Cafe in the morning before going to the spa. The spa is a must for us. It is so relaxing and no matter what the weather is we have full access all day. The staff through out the ship are ...
Horrible!!! STAY AWAY! Supposed to be eight nights To Virginia then to port Canaveral, ncl private island in the Bahamas and then to Nassau. turned out we only got to go to port canaveral and to nassau. Overcrowded! SHORT STAFFED! It was cold, had to stand in line for an hour to get a drink. Nobody waited on you! Kids swimming in the adult pools and hot tubs. Food was cold. Too many sea days with ...
Full Disclosure, I do currently own stock in Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), though to be blunt this is not a positive review and I likely won’t be sailing with NCL in the future (for details keep reading). As much as I would love to recommend this company and this ship (for my own personal financial benefit), I simply cannot.
I had some major issues along with many, many minor issues ...
This was the worst cruise me and my husband have ever been on... and that's of many! We cruised with a parent, us, a teen and baby. The cruise ship is very poorly designed. Way too many people and not enough seating ANYWHERE We traveled during March break which we expected to be busy.. this was a whole new level. Forget being able to see a show or go to a specialty resteraunt if you didn't book ...
Our 2nd cruise with NCL was a disaster. Staff were rude and miserable. Food was meh. Service at Taste and Savour was a disaster - service was so bad it took 2 hours to eat and we were late for events. They only cleaned our room once a day and our bunk beds remained in place - it was never cleaned until 4 pm everyday.
Staff were rude!!!
We were supposed to go to Bermuda but they took us to ...
We are a family of 3 (41, 39 and 7). My husband and son get bored on the all-inclusive vacations I love, so we thought we'd try the haven "ship within a ship" concept with NCL. In short, we loved it and have already booked our next trip.
The Great:
The haven facilities, staff, food and beverages were fantastic. We ate nearly every meal at the Haven restaurant and found it to be far better ...
