6 in our group. Our flight to Paris was late for USA . Had problems with passport, missed flight to Lisbon, had to get hotel at Paris airport, €159 x 3 per room. Booked next morning to Lisbon, had car reserved to get us to Vigo, flight late, had to cancel car, no baggage, missed ship, no hotels in Lisbon because of Pope visit, so we missed next port Vigo. We had to Uber to Porto €480, hotel €150 ...

Sailed aboard the Norwegian Getaway out of Lisbon, Portugal on a 9 day itinerary to Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, and ending in Southhampton, England. Embarkation-took us about 2 hours to get on the ship. Not sure if the port was understaffed or if everyone just showed up at once. Long line to drop off luggage and another long line to check in. Ship-Ship was in very good ...

We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary but everything else was fantastic. The staff were all excellent and very friendly - so key when you’re on vacation. The ship was kept very clean. The food ( selection and quality ) was great. We loved all the specialty restaurants that we tried. We had reserved dining before our cruise sail date so we were lucky. I had heard that others found it ...

Several years I started a series of blogs relating our adventures[and misadventures] of cruising with someone who has walking difficulties ie my husband. For anonymity I call him 6. You may remember the 70s series about Steve Austin an astronaut who was severely injured and rebuilt with bionics to the tune of 6 million dollars. Well as a result of Rheumatoid arthritis hitting him in his ...

We live in Hawaii. My wife and I wanted to take our 14-year-old daughter on a big trip before she gets older and might no longer be interested in traveling with us. Our goal was to create family memories, expose her to different cultures and show our daughter that the world is a far bigger place than just Hawaii. We booked the Norwegian 'Getaway' with the following itinerary: Jul ...

Worst Cruise Ever

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise for the ports of call. To begin, they cancelled our overnight in Istanbul before departing. The time in the ports were cut short because the cruise excursions never left on time. There was always and hour or two hour delay to get off the ship due to the unorganized shore excursion personnel. It was a joke. So instead of adding time to our excursions we were just short ...

Could be better organized

Well, I believed Norweigen is a reputable cruise line, but not this time. I knew the crew did their best. They were polite. Hard working and offered free entertainment. Service Dept was always short staff. Ogot my specialty dinner back. Food was okay but housekeeping can be better as we had to pay $20. per day mandatory. Sometimes it was done before dinner time. What upset me most the ...

My 25th cruise... and the worst to date

We have just disembarked from the Norwegian Getaway after our cruise from Venice to Athens. It was my husband and I sailing and our 2 and 5 year old daughters. We started off the holiday with a wonderful few days in Venice and then on the final day we caught the train from Trieste down to Venice with many other NCL passengers. When we arrived we very quickly realised that there were very few ...

Not the best.

We chose this cruise because of the variety of locations that the ship was going to be visiting. We booked our holiday, but with days to go, the itinerary changed.... drastically. Almost every day the time in port was shortened by 2 hrs or more. This left us with no chance to spend any quality time in port. They cancelled our stop in mykanos altogether because of choppy waves, yet 2 other ...

Poor NCL Customer Service-Missed Port & Shortened Port Stays.

I want to bring to your attention the disappointing experience my family and I encountered during our recent NCL Getaway cruise departing on July 12, 2023. Despite having high expectations based on the itinerary, our journey was marred by missed ports, shortened port stays, and subpar customer service. I feel compelled to share these grievances in order to shed light on NCL's ...
