Our third cruise with Celebrity. Overall the cruise was very enjoyable. The weather was in the mid-80's and sunny the whole time. Ship is very well-maintained and our balcony cabin was very nice.
(One note about booking flights with Flights by Celebrity. We had done this before without any issues but this time Celebrity changed our destination and flight times and cancelled our seat ...
Leaving cold, snow and sleet for a warm vacation seemed like a good idea. A day or so after leaving home our area was smacked with a Nor'easter.
Because of Celebrity's making a "scheduling change" and moving our embarkation from Fort Lauderdale to Miami; we opted to go directly to Miami from FLL. After reading a recent review; we made the right decision. In one of my posts I wrote how ...
We flew down the day before and thankful that we did since we got 20" the next day. Stayed at the Hilton Blue Lagoon which was great. They offer shuttles to the cruise terminal for a price, however we took an Uber and arrived around 12:15 and it was packed with waits that had to be over an hour. I guess this was due to the bussing of people in from Miami. We had a priority boarding perk from AAA ...
Let me say right off the bat that I am biased in favour of Celebrity - lets get that out of the way right now. This was my 47th cruise with this line and I have never cruised with anyone else, except for a one day cruise in the Greek islands.
Let me also say that the Silhouette is in need of a modernization - and the folks at the Head Office have recognized this because it is going into refit ...
First the Good. The hard working Celebrity staff remain impeccable in terms of warmth, hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism. The ship is going into Dry Dock in January for a total makeover, but it was absolutely spotless. The public areas both inside and out were well maintained. Because we were in an AquaSpa cabin, we ate in the Blu Dining Room which we enjoyed. The Maitre'D, hostess ...
We were joined on this cruise by long-time friends. We are twice a year cruisers and have a love for the Celebrity ambiance and service. They owned a travel agency and have traveled the world. Interestingly they have never sailed with Celebrity!. It was a great time for all. The Silhouette is going into refurb this year but still is an excellently cared for and neat ship. As expected the service ...
This is our 10th celebrity cruise. We were aware that the Silhouette is scheduled to go into dry dock after 2 more sailings so were aware it would probably have signs of "age". We were pleasantly surprised at the overall condition of the ship. Any signs of wear were overshadowed by the service we encountered. Every crew member was friendly, helpful and really did make us feel that we were their ...
Ship is still looking great and the price and ports were very attractive. Getting on the ship couldn't have been easier once we made it in the building. Access to the Miami piers is horrific. 1st day lunch was great, room 7221 on the hump ready at 1:30 and then on to the Martini bar. Dinner at Tuscan Grille was excellent, but may not be worth it unless you have OBC to burn. Cruise Critic ...
This was a gift to travel with a friend, the ship was beautiful, the food excellent, the staff more than accommodating. The balcony room 7201 was cleaned twice daily with fresh linens, towels and necessities. The coffee was hot, fresh and available at all hours, dining room experience was superior. Mr. Nelson head waiter, Flip (Phillip) assistant waiter and Zsa drink waitress were outstanding in ...
First I do want to say that we love the S class ships, at least before the "upgrades." They are vastly superior to the Edge due to the ship design and inclusiveness for all guests. The Edge class has very few connecting balconies and instead has windows. The S class ships have connecting balconies which is great for extended family. These ships also have less pay for areas although some of ...
