Chosen as the only one leaving from San Francisco --Hawaii Although clean, our room was much smaller than our staterooms on previous cruises . The ship is very tired dark & depressing , not how you want to feel on holiday . There was a lot of ceiling leaks with buckets catching drips all over the ship quite a few of the restrooms were out of order . The entertainment was poor . We were at ...

Horizon Court dining a huge disappointment

This was our fourth Grand Princess Cruise r/t SF-Hawaii, and if it were just for the experience itself, I would rate it as very good. But the main dining area, Horizon Court, has slid tremendously. Here as nowhere else has the penny-pinching made itself evident. Ever hear of place settings without spoons, and only tablespoons upon request? Like stirring your coffee with a knife or a stick? Eating ...

This is the third time we have cruised on the Grand Princess. The ship has been renovated since the last time. The new decor was very nice. The ship was sparkling clean and felt new. We enjoy sea days so this cruise is a nice break from others where we have more ports and excursions than rest. Those are a different type of vacation, seeing places we have heard so much about for the first time. ...

chose this cruise because of sailing out of San Francisco . Sailed eight months ago on same to Alaska. We returned because our overall on last cruise was exceptional entertainment in lounges and we enjoyed Alaska so much. We felt that the main lounges were bargain basement this time-band that you would see at a county fair. Booked a suite this time and last 2 days were workers repairing things ...

Only San Francisco Round Trip ship, no reason to excel

Ship is old but in excellent condition. Service from crew in staff was excellent. Entertainment was the worst we have experienced in 30 years of cruising. There was only one very old and tired production show "The British Invasion" which Princess has been running for at least 10 years. The solo singers on other show nights tried hard but were not even up to Las Vegas Lounge quality; the ...

We chose this cruise because it had stops at two places we had never been. We had a small issue with embarkation. My husband's cruise card did not print out. We had to sit in the terminal while they printed him up a new one. It did take a while. This is the first time this has happened in 11 cruises on Princess. Disembarkation was a breeze. No more filling out the Customs form. We left the ...

We chose a Window Suite which was great for a cruise where 10 days is spent on the ocean. Breakfast for Suite members in the Crown Grill was fantastic along with the service. Dinners in the Club Class Dining were great and offers an item that is not on the menu each night and the Maitre'd makes either a special pasta dish or Caesar Salad. Entertainment was good as we had seen each of the ...

It was holiday time and I was looking forward to visiting Hawaii. We arrived in San Francisco two days early to do some sight seeing before boarding Grand Princess. Had a very nice time in spite of Fisherman's Wharf being very expensive. IE breakfast ( bacon, eggs and toast $53.00 American). Hotel not worth 299.00 +. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The crew did a great ...

Leaky vessel

It was raining at boarding, it was raining at disembarkation and it felt like it was raining in the ship as well...I have never seen so many leaks pop-up anywhere and everywhere on a ship! Not sure why, but it could be the the age of the ship. While some areas are find and looking contemporary others are a throw-back to the past. Never book an obstructed view cabin, I basically paid $400+ for ...

A wonderful ship despite its age

We had been on this very same ship 15 years ago for our first ever cruise. It was a newer ship then so we didn't know what to expect 15 years later. We were so pleasantly surprised. Princess has made a lot of changes to other ships we've been on (Coral Princess, Caribbean Princess) where they have cut off the promenade deck by installing additional cabins, or moved the lovely gym from the top of ...
