We were on the well documented Grand Princess Thanksgiving cruise to Hawaii. I won’t go into the details of the fire/power problem since they have been discussed at length on the Princess board. I just want to state that the ... Read more

Due to a mechanical issue with losing half of our propulsion as we approached 20 miles from Hilo, Big Island, we could not enter port there. We went on to Honolulu and spent 2 days instead of 1 there and ship could not be repaired enough ... Read more

EMBARKATION Embarkation was smooth and fast. Port of San Francisco seems to have worked out the "bugs" since our last cruise February, 2015 when the lines were long. OVERVIEW This was our third cruise to Hawaii through ... Read more

Embarkation The last time we took a Princess cruise, in August 2013, we left from the old Terminal, and Embarkation was a breeze. This time, in November 2015, we left from the shiny new Cruise Terminal and it was awful. When we arrived ... Read more

Hubby and I wanted a quick getaway to celebrate retirement. Love the fact that we can board at the new terminal in SanFrancisco and don't have to fly. I think that is the major consensus on this cruise as most passengers were from close by ... Read more

We've been on a few cruises (13+) but never even considered a California coastal cruise. We live near SF, so it seemed silly. The price was too good to pass up, so we went ahead and booked, and we're very pleased. We invited a friend ... Read more

This is the worst of over a dozen cruises we've taken. THE SHIP: Grand Princess is a very old ship. It is constructed so that you can't get there from here. You must take elevators to go almost everywhere due to the vertical ... Read more

I have been on the Grand Princess a few times, so I didn't set my expectations to high because I know that she is almost 20 years old. She is a Grand Princess, yes her age is showing and she will be having a complete refurbishment in ... Read more

The Grand is the oldest of the Grand class Princess ships being built in 1999 and it’s in great shape! Most everything was clean and shiny. The only area that looks worn is on the top deck where the AstroTurf is coming up a little ... Read more

We're a couple in our early 40s who live in San Francisco and have been on 7 cruises, 5 with Princess. Overall, we knew what we were getting into up front, we had a nice trip, and we'd do it again. PROS 1) Flawless embarcation. We ... Read more
