The Most Amazing Weather

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

We chose this cruise for many reasons; spending time with friends who've moved away, the convenience of round trip out of San Francisco, love of the beauty of the Inside Passage of Alaska. The weather was absolutely amazing!!!! Never have we been to Alaska when it hasn't rained as least some of the time. This time we had beauty sunny skies in each port. The day we were in Tracy Arm we were ...

I would still be married if I took my ex-wife's advice on taking this cruise. My response always was, "why would want to be on an Hotel on water". Well, she was right, ( many times she was right, but this subject she was very, very right ). It was a trip of a life time, and it won't be my last. Gained 8lbs, but every oz. was GRUB'n, Shows and Bands were top notch Staff was ...

Service was great but ship's condition was worn and even gross in places.

I chose this cruise because of the ports and the city from which is left. There were several areas in the ship where it needed refurbished. Tile in one of the ladies rooms was blackened and looked like mold. The service was very good. The food was fine but he entertainment was not that great. Same 3 musical acts throughout. A trio, a guitarist and a pianist. All catered to an older crowd. ...

I have always wanted to go to Alaska and loved our cruise. In Haines we were lucky enough to see a bear in the wild. We got up close and personal with a couple of glaciers. The ship was lovely and the crew so friendly. Our cabin was a little small but then we didn't spend a huge amount of time in it.. We thoroughly enjoyed every port but did need more time in Victoria BC. Our 16 year old ...

Hubbard Glacier - Wow!

We choose this cruise, because it entailed the Hubbard glacier and Haines rather than Glacier Bay and Skagway which we had done on our first Alaska cruise. The Hubbard glacier was well worth the trip. The Grand is one of the older ships and is slowly showing her age, but she is still a Great boat on which to sail and the new beds are a huge plus. This was our 4th Princess cruise and we felt ...

This was my fourth cruise on the Grand Princess to Alaska. This year was not my most favorite. All the staff was great! Very good atmosphere. However, our party did notice as well as other passengers that many services and fun passenger events were discontinued. There was a lot less staff in dining and they seemed very over worked more than usual. The food tasted different and menu options were ...

First time on Princess, we were looking for a cruise experience, to plan an extended cruise next year, for our 40th anniversary next year. Princess offers a 28 day cruise, and we wanted to check out the line before we booked the longer cruise. However, this cruise was not good , worst food every in the main dining room, bad casino, all they do is collect money, with no play time. The ship ...

Boring on-board itinerary.

The cruise was safe, fine and overall average. Food was quite good. Only real big negative was the on-board daily itinerary..boring..activities and shows felt like we were stuck back in the 80's..yawn..overused re-runs of boring trivia after trivia. Matt the cruise director was a former professional dancer...you could tell because his whole itinerary programming programming for the whole 10 days ...

We are a married couple who have cruised for a few years- Celebrity, P&O and MSC so far. We choose this cruise for the itinerary and the stay in San Francisco. We are from the U.K. After a long flight we stayed up to see the 4th July Fireworks. Stayed in a hotel down at Fisherman’s Wharf for one night. Had a great morning walking through a very quiet San Fran, got the tram and ...

Alaska round trip from San Francisco a winner

We chose this cruise to Alaska because it started and ended from San Francisco, where we live. Air transportation was not necessary. To my knowledge, this is the only such cruise, so we signed on immediately Furthermore, it included our primary interest which is the Hubbard glacier, over 20 stories high and more than 4 MILES wide. We got to within a half mile, closest in 35 years which was ...
