Third time cruising with Carnival and it turned out to be quite disappointing. In a nutshell, the one port stop, St Maarten, I was really looking forward to was cancelled because the captain thought the seas were rough even though 4 other ships were able dock safely.
Embarkation was fast because we bought the Faster to the Fun package; otherwise the line is huge and takes about a couple hours ...
Once again, Carnival delivered its standard “value for money” cruise. The Dream is a nicely maintained vessel. It is not my favorite Carnival ship however. Although a sister ship to the Breeze, it does not have a Guy's Burger Joint nor a Red Frog Pub. It seemed difficult to find a quiet place to have a beer and read a book. The Ocean plaza was always packed with people doing trivia quizzes, crafts ...
This was our 3rd CCL cruise and the biggest ship we have been on to date. It is very nice with lots of stuff to do for everyone. Service in all facets is great. Kids loved the slides, basketball court and food. They loved getting pizza and ice cream whenever they wanted. MDR food is decent. I am a fairly picky eater but could find something each night. Some MDR entres were good and some ...
We (husband and two teenage daughters) have sailed many times on Carnival (10) and only once on another cruise line. We like the relaxed atmosphere on Carnival so we just keep going when we can. We sailed out of New Orleans so we drove from Dallas on Saturday and spend the night in NO. I was so excited about going over Christmas but I will say that I might not do that again. It was just a ...
We decided to take this trip to see how Carnival Dream compared to the other Carnival cruise ships. We booked the 7 day cruise with the Grand Suite (7317) and and 2 interior rooms to accommodate other family members on our trip with us. One interior room was for my parents where my mom used a small wheelchair type device and she had no issues getting in and out of the interior room or other ...
We embarked via New Orleans on Carnival Dream on 12-6-15. We went to Roatan, Belize & Cozumel. First of all- the process to get into the port via Security check points is long, tedious and you are standing with your carry on bags forever. Waiting to be processed from one checkpoint to the next- so prepare to stand & wait.
Next we got on the boat into our room- which was ok. I would say the ...
This was our 2nd time on the Dream. She has definitely aged in the two years since we last sailed on her, but still a good ship. Had a good time, but overall wasn't our best cruise.
PRE-CRUISE: Stayed at the Comfort Suites at the NOLA Airport. Highly recommend – we plan to use them again. Great room: clean, large and comfortable. Bed was great! Great breakfast and staff. 20 minutes from ...
This is my 4th cruise, all with Carnival. I brought my family for my anniversary and Thanksgiving. We wanted to bring our young kids to Grand Cayman, where we got married on a Carnival Cruise, to show them where we got married. The elevators didn't work and were slow. With a 2 year old, stairs aren't an option. The buffets were only half open at prime times, wtih horrible food. I went ...
This was our 3rd Thanksgiving cruise (all with Carnival). We had 17 people in our party as we planned the trip with our extended family. I am sure others in the party will be pushing for another cruise line for next year.
We have been on other Carnival cruises over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. I was really disappointed in the Dream. This is the largest ship we have been on and I ...
This was our second cruise on the Carnival line, first on the Dream. After our experience on the Carnival Dream, we will never sail Carnival again. Food was sub-par. What was being served in the buffet was being served in the restaurant. Came back to the ship, at approx. 3:30 p.m., after a day in port to discover they were closing the buffet. Really, close the buffet when everyone is coming back ...
