Decent first or second cruise

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Elation

I chose this cruise because it was affordable and it fit my week of scheduled vacation. Almost everything was as I expected it to be based on my last cruise. This ship had the exact same lay out as the last cruise so it was very easy to navigate this ship. Embarkation and debarkation went extremely smoothly, however I was able to take an Uber to the cruise terminal but they refused to let Uber ...

chose this trip for convenience and price i guess....i can't recommend this ship......needs a remodeling, badly. the smell of raw sewage near the end was sickening, of course, and.should never be allowed. the bedding was beyond worn out. it was our third cruise with carnival in twelve months and overall we enjoyed the first two more. I've found carnivals crews to be friendly and hard working, ...

Our room choice was terrific. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves.

This was our first cruise. We chose this cruise because my husband didn't want to fly. I had a good time but I would not choose a ship this small again. We are not drinkers and most of the activities centered around alcohol. The pool is small. The food was not extraordinary. We plan to give Carnival another chance on a bigger ship with more activities. Embarkation was awesome. The port is ...

First time cruise - great and fun

This is our first cruise ever and a familly of 14 adults and 8 kids. We were pleasantly surprise. My parents visiting from India had apprehensions of a ship being dirty and wet but were completely awed by the ship and cleanliness and treatment by the crew. It was thanksgiving so the ship was packed with 2600 people so the queues were longer at the buffet and restaurants. Other than ...

First if you are wanting a classy cruise, THIS IS NOT IT! The ship is old but clean. Our bed was comfortable but our friends bed was hard and not comfortable at all. We had a picture tube television in our room, kinda weird. The food was not very good. The food at dinner was so so quality. It seemed to all taste the same each night. Steak was tough one night but ok another night. The stage ...

Boy we just get out of the ship yesterday and booked again! The ship is showing its age but they were doing maintenance all the time, that was great to see! We had a blast! I will sum up our experience: Faster to the Fun: Yes, spend that extra buck and buy it, you will be treated like royalty and will skip lines! Food: Like Willie Wonka in the chocolate Factory, indulge yourself, my husband ...

We chose this cruise as it was during school vacation week and the DW is a secretary in the school system. It fell within our budget. Embarkation was fine. Uber had an issue at the port and got a ticket, but we were fine. Ship: Needs a major makeover. Just old looking. Cabin: Sufficient, but small. Met our room steward, Mon, saw him a few other times, never could remember our names. ...

Good Introductory Cruise

For our kids' first cruise with our boys aged 16 and 11, we chose Carnival's 5-night Bahamas cruise aboard the Elation. This was only the second cruise for myself and DH; our first was 7-nights aboard Celebrity Reflection. So, we've kind of seen both ends of the spectrum. Because we had booked a Grand Suite for our family of four, we got FTTF as a perk. We were there right at peak boarding ...

Just got back early this morning from our 5 night cruise on the Elation. Once again I was pleasantly surprised by our experience, especially after reading some of the other reviews on this forum. We took a taxi directly from the airport which was easy and pleasant. Check in was super quick and efficient (we did not have FTF). From arrival at port to on boat took about 1 hour tops. We went ...

Horrible

This ship needs a serious update. The food was terrible, bland no taste. The only food that was even worth eating was the sandwiches, french fries, and ice cream. Not much entertainment at all. The ship was really rocky couldn't even sleep at night. I would not waste my time or money on the Elation, The best part of this this ship was our stewart Jay Pee he always kept our room clean and neat all ...
