Elation compared to Crown Princess

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Elation

We chose this cruise because we thought it would have a lot of children's activities. Our 4 year old was too little for the slide. The daycare was mostly free play and tv in a small room, not the educational cruise we thought. To compare the Crown Princess (cp) with the Elation: First of all, we had a 2 hours wait in customs and security for the Elation. There is a small opening of time to get ...

Great staff, old ship !

First warning, we are Platinum and I had a knee scooter due to an ankle injury. The priority embarkation is a free for all. I was literally trampled as they don't actually allow Platinum and Diamond guests to board first. Once we were finally allowed to start boarding they opened the gate and everyone rushed in line. Those who were had suites, were platinum or diamond were not given priority ...

No More Carnival For Us!

This was cruise number 10 with carnival. This cruise was a complete let down by carnival. I knew it was an older smaller ship so the badly worn out ship was ok for me. I normally book 3 rooms per cruise but this cruise we booked 10 for a total of 29 people. This cruise was a little special being that our son that normally cruises with us was killed this past year in a car wreck and would only be ...

Wonderful Family Vacation

We chose this sailing because we wanted to see Half Moon Cay, and it was near enough to drive to the port. The people that work on the Elation were wonderful, always smiling and saying hello. They worked very hard so that we had a wonderful vacation. It was a little rough doing 3 ports in 5 days, I personally will extend that out to 7 days from now on. We arrived at the port and was on board ...

It was my wedding cruise!

My husband and I chose this cruise mainly because of cost. Jacksonville was driving distance from us so it gave our guests the option to drive or fly. The cost of the cruise itself was around $250/person before taxes. The ship size when you have 40 people with you was perfect otherwise it would have been extremely difficult to find everyone. Although, our day at see was very rough and cold and ...

I wanted to take some time and let you know how our cruise on the ELATION went. I don’t like to start with this BUT it needs to be addressed. Our first afternoon on board we went to the LIDO deck to get a bite to eat. We got some food on the forward serving line by the midships stage area. My wife got a piece of roasted chicken, (I got a hamburger). When my wife cut into the chicken it was ...

The worst vacation in our lives

Beware!!!! Don't waste your money and time, you would spend more money on medications after your trip!!! I would never recommend anyone to travel on Carnival Elation Cruise Line!!! Don't spend your money on such a disappointing vacation. We had the worst trip ever. The cabin was filthy and dirty, the shower and fans in the bathroom were moldy. Even though we had rooms service twice a day, they ...

This was our 21st cruise with Carnival. We'd cruised out Jacksonville in years past several times on the Fascination. We decided to give the Elation a go as it had recently moved to Jacksonville. Embarkation went fine, was quick enough with Platinum priority access. The room was ready as expected when we got on. Our ocean view cabin was as expected. Smallish, no frills, a standard Carnival ...

Elation not as old as it seems

We wanted to do a holiday cruise, and this itinerary and departure port worked with our travel, so I wasn't picking based on the ship. After booking and reading reviews I started to get nervous about the ship. My expectations were low (knew going into it that it was an old ship) but we were impressed! Our ocean view cabin was great. Didn't notice any stains, peeling carpet etc. Cabin steward was ...

This was my first cruise so I had no idea what to expect. Although, it took forever to get on the ship, I was greeted with champagne by very friendly crew members. Throughout the entire cruise, there was a very laid back attitude on the cruise. It was fun with plenty of things to do. We met some very nice people that we still stay in contact with and plan to go on a cruise with them. My grandson ...
