We chose Carnival for a family cruise because of the location and timing over spring break. It was our 8 year old grandson's first ever cruise and we had 6 cabins full of family. It was our 5th Carnival cruise out of 22 overall.
The Carnival Kid's program was awesome and exceeded our expectations.
We also had a very rocky cruise, had to skip Coco Cay because of the rough seas. BUT, ...
We chose this cruise because there was only one day at sea. We are not a fan of the days at sea, but enjoy the ports. Our port at Half Moon Cay was canceled because of the weather, while not the cruise lines fault they offered nothing as consolation. We were left with another boring day at sea. We are not gamblers or drinkers and there was very little family things to do on board our day at ...
This was our 2nd Carnival cruise. We were definitely spoiled the first time. The Jacksonville port was not as efficient as Cape Canaveral. We got a late start which had us rushing to get to Freeport the next day (still late). The seas were rough and being on a smaller ship we felt it. The weather also caused us to have to miss half moon cay, a huge disappointment but we understood. But ...
Traveled with another couple, not sure of their cabin number. Embarkation was a breeze!! Even though it is a small ship, we love sailing on the Elation...this was our 3 sailing on Elation! Great cabin steward Puspa! Great MDR staff in Inspiration dining room, late seating: Joey, Raul and Jun Carlos. Shows were very good, even though we had seen them before. We missed HMC because of weather ...
This was a last minute Spring Break cruise - brought 7 college kids with two of us Moms (yes, we are brave). There was a nice mix of passengers, but mainly college spring break age (between 18-23). That said, it was still a very enjoyable cruise and we met so many great college kids. This is my 8th cruise but 1st on Carnival. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly ...
My wife and I are very experienced cruisers. This cruise was our 5th to the Bahamas, but we had never cruised out of Jacksonville before so we thought we'd give Elation (only ship out of Jacksonville) a try.
Actually, Jacksonville is a lovely port. Beautiful setting while docked and lovely exit up the St. John's River basin to the ocean. Unfortunately this was the highlight of the ...
Family trip. Food in dining room ok, but not many options for eating elsewhere. I'm used to larger ships where they have many restaurants. All meals took a long time, seems like not as much staff in dining room as usual. I know our room sTeward told us he was in charge of 27 cabins. Seems like a lot to me. Casino old and tired. Lounge chairs on deck stained and covered in bird poop. When we used a ...
Me and my boyfriend (at the time) wanted to take a vacation that didn't cost us a fortune and would allow us to travel somewhere we had never been before. Of course our first thought was CRUISE! We looked into several different cruise lines and different places we could travel to, but Carnival Elation was our best bet as far as price wise. We was a bit skeptical because lets be honest, you get ...
In September 2016, we did this very same cruise and enjoyed it greatly and thought we would try it again because we wanted to enjoy some warm weather at the end of winter. Having booked this , we asked for the very same cabin we had before because of it's location to the elevators and position on the ship. This time around, the room never did get cool, the food was sub-par and the service was not ...
Ship is old and in my opinion should be retired... Cabin was outdated, tiles in shower are falling off the walls and very poor air conditioning. TV might as well have been an old 1970 floor model with very few channels. Reported A/C problem twice, only to be told it was within Carnival's standards. Food was below standard on this cruise. Room service (sandwiches) was the best food we had. ...
