EPIC may be a great cruise ship for the Mediterranean Sea: Spain, Italy, and France are the epic draw while the ship offers a decent experience while getting you from port to port. It's not a bad ship. If you're booked on her for a future cruise, you won't really be disappointed. It's just not a standout. Certainly, there are several impressive features. NCL's freestyle vibe is refreshing. ...
Cannot recommend The Norwegian Epic enough, absolutely fantastic ship and on the whole professional and attentive staff.
Boarding starts at 1200 but cabins aren’t available until 1400, so no rush to board unless you want to get on early like we did and get your bearings and enjoy a glass of bubbles or two.
Fabulous entertainment, wonderful restaurants and great bars.
Speciality dining is ...
Our family of 4 traveled on the Epic for my husbands 40th birthday. Having sailed with NCL 10 years before we were very excited. However, the Epic ship is in generally poor condition. This ship was advertised as a newer state of the art luxury ship. The Bliss Lounge, Speigel Tent and Epic Theatre are in dire need of repairs. Chair upholstery was thread-bare, paint was chipped everywhere and ...
I chose this cruise based on the itinerary. We chose to embark from Barcelona because it was much closer to the port and I prefer starting my cruise on a weekend day. The embarkation was very easy and stress free. We were on the ship in less than 15 minutes. Disembarkation was also easy. Very orderly and quick. The ship was pretty good. Cabin location was ideal for me. It was at the back of ...
Embarkation

Embarkation was easy and as I'm disabled, we got to skip the line. Was nice and smooth.

I had an inside cabin. I also peeked into other cabins as they were being cleaned so I got a look at oceanview and balcony ones too. In general , they were a lot smaller than other ships I've been on. I also wasn't keen on the bathroom set ...
This cruise was the first European cruise that my family did as well as the first cruise on which we took my 7y old son. While the cruise fulfilled all stated promises, it did not live up to our expectations from previously doing 2 Caribean cruises with Royal Caribbean.
Pros: We elected the premium bev package as one of our perks. Very worth the tips price. You could get wine, beer, and liquor ...
My husband and I had a great time on the Epic! We boarded very quickly in Rome at 1:00 pm. Spent 2-1/2 days in Rome—so much to see, great food and lots of walking and cobblestones. It was much less crowded boarding in Civitavecchia, most boarding in Barcelona and off in Rome for the day. The Epic is a beautiful ship, clean and well maintained. The food was excellent in Taste and Manhattan (even ...
Embarkation was fairly swift, but lacked information for passengers who had not used NCL before.
The Epic is getting tired and jaded and there was a general feeling of cutbacks being made. In addition, it cannot cope with the volume of passengers, especially on sea days.
The pool for very small children was closed on several occasions and there was a definite question with regard to hygiene ...
I sailed in one of the studio staterooms for a 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise. It was a very port-intensive cruise, and looking back I might have enjoyed a bit more time on this huge ship. There are a lot of things to do aboard the Epic, and a lot of good choices were made in its design.
Check-in at the port in Barcelona was really quick and smooth.
I was worried that my small studio ...
We traveled May 18-26
-Staff is friendly and nice
-u spent the most in excursions
Take a private guide and even taking a taxi is better than taking the excursions the ship offers (u feel like one of members of horse Herd)
-cruise tries to charge u in anything possible. U go to restaurant - boom $15 charge per person even though my package included gratuities. We tipped all the way ...
