Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

More negatives than positives ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We have been loyal to Royal Caribbean since its inaugural sailing. We have sailed with them every year since and are now Diamond Members. We now tend to say, let's try another ship next time. I apologise in advance for all the negatives, there are a few positives in here somewhere. We tend to prefer eating in the Windjammer in the evening, as we do not like to be told when we have to eat, ...

Having cruised with RC before and also on this particular ship, we decided to give it another go. We were absolutely shocked that the service had significantly gone downhill, whilst the prices had rocketed! We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was not terribly different to the standard balcony cabin... Slightly more space, a bathtub & larger balcony, but nothing else for your buck... Not even a ...

Got of the May 15th sailing it was a good cruise but certainly no WoW factor. The ship crew just seamed tired as if they didn't want to be there, there was just no go in some of them, cleaning of the ship was next to non existent. Up on deck 12 there was all sorts of food stuffs left lying around(Fries/Pizza crusts/Bread rolls) which were just not picked up by anyone we new this because the ...

We chose this cruise mainly because we love Royal Caribbean and we never wish to fly again ! So with this cruise to the Canaries beginning and ending in Southampton , a wine package and free parking we were raring to go . Embarkation was real quick and we were on the ship in no time , we were upgraded to a promenade stateroom , which we did not really like but there were no other cabins ...

We want on the Canaries Cruise out of Southampton for 12 nights. I am writing the blog whilst still on the ship as I cannot wait to get off and have some decent food. It usually always comes tepid in the main restaurant and on several occasions I have sent it back. Never did I get anybody from the Kitchen or the Manager coming to me apologising, just a reheated version of what I ordered. On the ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Independence of the Seas

After going transatlantic on Celebrity, we decided to take RC to the Mediterranean rather than going to Norway with Celebrity. There are some positives with this ship. The ice shows and the production of Grease were very good, and the diamond Club happy hour was very generous. On the down side, the food was poor both in the restaurant and the buffet. Service in the dining room was good, ...

I enjoyed parts of the cruise but not all.the embarkation was smooth well run loved the way our cases vanished until we were onboard got into our cabin about 1-15 but our holiday started as soon as we were onboard but was not too amused to find a pubic hair on the flushing system of the toilet but spoke to attendant and toilet was sanitised so problem solved. We had a lovely promenade cabin ...

Cruise Price was attractive ... embarkation was smooth ... outside cabin standard, nothing special ... Main Dining Menu not the best ... Entertainment the worst in our 13 Cruises ... Activities non-existant ... Service average, N.B. there is an 18% automatic charge on ALL drinks, including bottled water .... 4 x 1 ltr bottles of water for the cabin = $21 approx. £16 .... YES £16. I can get ...

This was my first cruise and it could not have been better. In the Romeo & Juliet restaurant we kept the same table for the whole cruise and had excellent service on table 366 from Ernami and Martin.During the day the activities were plentiful so there was no chance of being bored. In the evenings a trip to the theatre and then into the Pyramid bar both of which provided top entertainmenet and the ...

We (my Wife and I + 2 first time cruiser friends) have just returned from our 3rd, and most enjoyable RCI cruise to date. Firstly I'd like to mention how good the staff were,  our cruise director Marc was the most active, most pleasant and happiest cruise director we have ever come across.  He was absolutely brilliant. The sports entertainment team on the sports deck were again fantastic, ...
