Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

Disgusting!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Independence of the Seas

This ship's condition, stained, shabby, broken furniture in public rooms, worn carpets, chipped, damaged walls, statues, ugly falling apart plastic flower arrangements displays a very worn out ship, long overdue for dry-dock and refurbishment. Worst of all was The Pyramid Lounge. It's absolutely disgusting and overrides the service by staff and any of the positive aspects onboard, like ...

I am not one to normally pen a review following a bad experience, however after my vacation last week aboard the MS Independence of the Seas, I felt it necessary to voice my concerns. Let me begin by saying that I have cruised fairly regularly since childhood. I have seen numerous changes (some good/some bad) across the board within the cruise industry. I would have to say that Celebrity, up to ...

We cruised to spend time with my parents and the rest of my family. We were a group of 8 including my one year old son. The ship was nice. Honestly I can't believe ships are this elaborate. Embarking went fairly efficiently. I would say my primary compliment would be that the service was excellent. The staff are friendly and do their job well. My biggest concern surrounds the amenities ...

Te embarkation was quick and painless. My wife and I flew in early that morning and were on the ship by 12pm. The ship is clean. We stayed in an inside cabin and the room was a good size. We loved our Room attendant. Jon was very attentive and always had Ice for us in the room because the mini "Fridges" that are in the room only keeps things slightly above room temperature. The staff in the ...

This was a five day (Sea day, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Sea Day) out of Ft. Lauderdale. I like this size of ship with the promenade shops. I enjoyed the cruise a great deal with some small exceptions. Windjammer hours..It turns out the only place for a bite to eat if you missed dinner is pizza and sandwiches on the promenade. 9:00 PM seems too early to close down the buffet. Why not keep a small ...

I am a repeat cruiser with Royal Caribbean because of their organization, variety of shore excursions and top notch staff at all levels. The shows are amazing and there are lots of fun things to do every day. Big shout out to Risman who was our cabin attendant and the creator of some really great towel art (although the exhibit on the last day at the towel return was stellar - an alligator ...

My husband and I have been on many cruises, but this was our first on Royal Caribbean. RCL would easily rank at the bottom of the list. Luggage: We found our luggage down the hall from our room when we boarded. When we got off the ship, our luggage should have been in area 24 but it wasn't there. We asked an employee and they told us to look around. We found it in are 42. Cabin: Our ...

The Bad: We went out on a birthday cruise for two fraternity brothers. We were supposed to all be eating at the same time and have a celebration for the 50th birthday. Not only did the head waiter not recognize the special event, they stuck us next to the office in the main dining room, we were placed next to the children's table with kids screaming at dinner. It was not a fun time, but we ...

We took the January 18 4-night Western Caribbean cruise on Independence of the Seas from Fort Lauderdale. There were 4 of us: my wife and me, and my 100-year-old dad and his friend. It was the first cruise for my dad's friend, but the rest of us have cruised many times before, on both Royal Caribbean and other cruise lines. It was our first time on a Freedom Class ship. We chose this itinerary ...
