Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

Ok, so we booked this cruise ship as we have a 3 year old and thought it would be more catered for families , which is correct. Lots and lots of families with lots and lots of teenagers everywhere ! Also we have sailed from Southampton previously , twice with Celebrity cruise and once with P & O and have enjoyed the experience of not having to fly . The ship is great for families there is ...

We have sailed as a group of 12 on Independence of the Seas twice before it was refitted and loved it, ages range from very young (this trip youngest age 8 previously age 1 to old age 77) enjoyed it. The itinerary, dates and with the new refit it was the perfect choice again this summer. The new refit has been exceptional and the additions to name a few: lazer tag, VR headset trampoline, escape ...

Very disappointed with this cruise ship.Having high expectations after such a good time on the navigator last time as a family , this time not the case, from the time we got on the ship you could see that there was too many people on the ship,my first disappointment was the SWIMMING POOL AREA,Not enough sunbeds to cater for everyone which meant you either got up early to put your towels down or you ...

Our least favourite - but still excellent

We picked this cruise mainly for our 15 year daughter who loves meeting teens from all over the world. 14 days and no flight sounded a good idea. This was our 4th cruise and 3rd one with RCI. While it was excellent it simply wasn’t up to the standard of our previous cruises on Rhapsody and Harmony. Far, far too overcrowded. Pros -Great food -Lovely staff -Stops all easily ...

First off, we have cruised over 20 times, many with RC. We are platinum members and this cruise put us in the Emerald class. We traveled on 6/30/18 from Southhampton on their Mediterranean Cities Cruise. Below are a few observations. 1. Food...It was cruise line food. Not bad, not great. There are two points. In the Windjammer there was a good variety but space was limited. My ...

We chose this ship as we enjoyed it so much last June. If the booking agent on ship had told us of the changes to accommodate more of families and teenagers we would not have booked. Not only has the ship got lots of entertainment for families but have increased the number of cabins but not increased the seating in the bars or general seating areas. In fact one night we wanted a drink before ...

We chose Independence of the Seas having been on the RCI previously and were really disappointed. We went on in June 2018 just after the re-fit. The re-fit was really just about putting more cabins into places which had previously been public places so we found that there were a lot more people than there were seats, sunbeds, lunch tables, etc. You had to arrive at the shows 20 minutes before ...

This was my second cruise, we had previously been on one round the Caribbean. We were on the cruise for two weeks and I could not find a single thing to fault. The service was always quick and to a high standard, the staff were all very polite and attentive. We all loved the cruise director Joff he brought an uplifting feel to the cruise. There was never the chance to get bored with the amount of ...

Overcrowded ship - nowhere to relax

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

This was our first cruise so did not know what to expect. The boarding was brilliant as my wife has mobility problems and we were fast tracked on the ship in 20 minutes from parking the car. However once we were on sea days we soon got to see how overcrowded the ship was. only one evening were we able to get a seat in any of the bars and ended up taking drinks to our room, so lucky we had a ...
