Nice cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Journey

We took our first Azamara cruise in March of 2016 on Quest, on it's last voyage before going into drydock to be refurbished. Because of inconveniences (!!) and the itinerary having been shortened, the company compensated us and also offered incentives for a future cruise. Thanks offer was hard to resist so we chose this itinerary, which fit our schedule. The Journey's overhaul made huge ...

Good, but not as good as I was expecting

We booked this cruise because of the PerryGolf option. I did a lot of reading about Azamara on Cruise Critic beforehand, and perhaps based on its enthusiasts, my expectations were too high. The service was good, but not what I would consider outstanding; it was about the same as we received on other lines. We did not experience the extra interaction or friendliness I read about on the Azamara ...

Met its high standard

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Journey

We wanted to have a taste of the British Isles and this itinerary fit the bill. We were in a V2 stateroom, and it was a typical verandah stateroom in size and furnishings. We visited excellent ports that were quite accessible because of the ship's size and the often complementary shuttles. Even the departure city, Southampton, although not picturesque provided an excellent access to ...

2nd time on Azamara

Last minute decision based on previous cruise and of course itinerary. We also like being on a smaller ship. Although the crew was wonderful, always helpful we felt the quality of the food has diminished since our first cruise with Azamara. The first one was 2 years ago. I am not sure why this happened. We decided to take a cabin on the 4th floor without a balcony. It was the typical ...

A TASTE OF SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT

We decided to do this cruise although we have one booked for September on the same ship. We wanted to visit this area and it seemed an opportunity we did not want to miss when we saw it when on board late last year. I admit we are devoted to Azamara. We were disappointed in the lectures this time and sometimes activities were scheduled at the same time - which was disappointing. The trip ...

Thank you for the review manc. Being able to visit off-the-beaten-track villages is one of the benefits of sailing on a smaller ship like Azamara Journey. We look forward to welcoming you...

Average cruise...not special

Unfortunately this cruise did not meet my expectations. The food was average....no noteworthy meals. The service was good but the customer service staff and excursion staff was poor and lacking personality. Frankly, I wish I could get my money back and spend more for a better experience. 3 stars. Everything was adequate - neither more or less. For the money, I was hoping for more. I do not ...

Just okay

I learned that cruises are not a good way to see places...you only see a glimpse. Azamara was okay. The waiter service was good. Food was okay...never had a great meal. Everything was average. Customer service desk was poor and unimpressive. Lacking knowledge and unimpressive personalities. Excursions were not especially impressive either. Little knowledge of local sights. I won't go on an ...

Wonderful Norwegian cruise on an excellent ship

This was our first ocean cruise and it went well. No problems at all. We were in a stateroom with window midships and had an uninterrupted view. We were just above the door used for most pilot movements but this was not a problem and gave us a fair bit of entertainment as we made extensive use of pilots during the trip. The size of the ship and number of passengers was ideal for this type of ...

Norwegian Adventure

A year ago, while sailing on the Azamara Journey, Captain Johannes stopped by my table in the coffee bar and seeing the future cruise brochure laid out on the table, he asked if I had any questions about places of interest. After expressing an interest in Scandinavia, he began telling me about his homeland and the unique opportunities available for passengers on the Journey when sailing in his ...

A Norwegian fjords cruise has been on my list for a long time, and it was a given that I would do it on the Journey with Captain Johannes at the helm, as this is his native land and backyard. He did not disappoint. Narration from the bridge on a daily basis, antecdotes about the villages and their people, readjusting the route to maintain the calmest seas and insure the best scenery...all were ...
