Some changes in ports due to poor weather

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Journey

User Avatar

We wanted to revisit some old haunts and then stay on in Portugal when we disembarked. The weather caused problems from the first port - Guernsey - where the tender was battered by the waves and getting back on board was hair raising. Bordeaux was great - good location. Easy for public transport and walking. We took the tram to the end of the line to a small French town and even went ...

Amazing service, wonderful cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Journey

We chose Azamara for the small ship and also for the best itinerary immersion into the ports of call. Imagine docking right in the center of Bordeaux... closer to the center then the river cruises!! It was quite the experience to get off the ship and walk right up to the Place de la Bourse. The majority of our stops took us to the heart of the cities, otherwise we had a plethora of shuttles taking ...

Azamara not a luxury experience - Not worth the money

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Journey

Previously sailed on Azamara, in spite of last year's 'refurbishment' (all very surface) the ship is dated, cabins small, shower tiny, wait staff brusque, food just okay, not a luxury or sub-luxury experience. This ship is truly not worth the cost, Viking Ocean and Oceana are light years better in every way. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are better for much less money. Cruise Director was ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Journey

This was my second cruise, both with Azamara. I'm not sure how I venture to another company to make a comparison as Azamara is just delightful. We spent 4 days in Stockholm before boarding which was excellent, such a beautiful city. We found our cabin to be very comfortable, clean and well looked after by our lovely room attendants. Dining onboard is very good. Lots of options and the ...

St Petersburg

We chose this cruise because we have wanted to visit St Petersburg, and we had sailed before on Azamara and have always been highly satisfied. Because we wanted to see as much as we could with as little hassle as possible, I found out that Azamara has a private tour section. We worked with Zsofia Sarkadi and she provided us with a 3 day tour. It was a fantastic experience. The tour company ...

This was our third Azamara cruise and we have loved each one! The ship size is ideal for us. The ship's staff could not have been any friendlier. We dined three times in the specialty restaurants and did two of the chef's tables with wine. All were very good. Also could find no complaints with the Discoveries Restaurant. Very diverse selections. White Night was exceptional! Also enjoyed the ...

In 2008, we took our 1st Azamara Cruise in the Mediterranean, 10 cruises later, we came back to Azamara and just returned from the 12 Night Baltic Sea to London voyage. This was by far the best cruise we have taken in years. The food was fabulous, not only in the specialty restaurants and main dining room, in the buffet as well. The stateroom and balcony were great. The bathroom a little tight, ...

This was out fourth cruise on the Journey. Loved the redecorating. The crew was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for providing us with what we needed to have Sabbath services onboard. The apple tarts were delicious. Would have liked to have a more private setting for the services. There was a lot of noise from the bar and another reception happening. It was wonderful to meet Lek ...

Baltic and birthday cruise

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Azamara Journey

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We had wanted to visit St. Petersburg for some time and this cruise offered 3 days to explore and were not disappointed. Embarkation was easy despite the weather. Cabin was complete with birthday balloons and was well located. Dining was pleasant in Discoveries restaurant though sometimes felt the menu was a little limited. Windows café was nice when ...

Great itinerary for sure...and that got us back on a cruise boat (we had said never again after "doing" a few too many huge ships and resenting the lines and unhappy employees. Didn't even know until after booking about the special event night (which was a private concert at the St Petersburg Symphonic Hall with their orchestra) and it was a night to remember for sure. Food was well executed ...
