I chose the BTB cruises of Scotland and Ireland because of the itineraries. Loved all the places where we docked, especially Oban in Scotland and Dublin and Londonderry in Ireland. Special thanks to cabin steward Malik. And a shout-out to 3 super-talented (and nice ) people:Stephen , a terrific cruise director - Jose, the assistant cruise director- and singer-pianist Vasi. This trio ...

This was our 4th trip on Azamara, all of which have been on Journey so boarding feels very familiar. We embarked in Amsterdam which was extremely well organised and we were surprised t be recognised by the Hotel Director from our previous cruise. That feels good and coincidentally was useful as we had had a lot of pre-cruise problems which we had been unable to resolve . This included booking us ...

First time on Azamara and NOT disappointed !

We have cruised over 12 voyages on various cruise lines, including a river cruise and have had varied experiences. We had heard great things about Azamara and we were not disappointed. Yes, the earlier technical glitches were unnerving but thanks to the many loyal Azamara regulars on this site, our concerns were allayed. While the room was smaller that we expected, we found lots of cubbies to ...

We have cruised about 300 days with many other cruise lines and this was our first cruise with Azamara. We found the staff to be the nicest and most helpful of all the cruise lines we have been with. I have a mobility scooter and they were extremely helpful when I had difficulty getting around. The ship is older and not too accessible. There were high ledges and doors to open that could not ...

Our first -- and last -- cruise on Azamara

This was our first – and last – cruise on Azamara. We’ve been on about 15 cruises on five different cruise lines, but we’ve never had such a miserable experience with a cruise company’s office and corporate personnel before. Apparently, the transition from being a part of Royal Caribbean to independence has been a rocky one. The website almost never worked, and I spent days and hours on hold ...

We were looking for a cruise that included both Barcelona and Gibraltar, and I stumbled upon this itinerary for a Spain Intensive cruise with a cruise line that I hadn’t heard about before. I liked the sound of overnight stays, and a smaller ship, and we were excited to be introduced to Azamara Cruises. The flexible, casual style of cruising really suited us. I loved the basic drink package that ...

We just got back from a wonderful Mediterranean cruise, on Azamara Journey. This cruise line is so wonderful ! We have been on 10 cruises, to date. Azamara has been the most attentive, efficient, kind helpful to its passengers. From the captain, who greets you every morning with info and is there when you leave the ship for port adventure. He kept us informed ,communicated and was friendly ...

Nice Trip, but Problems!

For the most part, we enjoy Azamara, and this was our third, and likely our last, cruise with them. PROS: The onboarding and offboarding processes both went very smoothly. The life boat drill was short and perfect. Overall, the ship is clean, our cabin was nice, and the staff is mostly very accommodating. CONS: No champagne service offered during onboarding this trip. The only high end wines ...

First time on a luxury cruise line - the good and the minorly not so good

Overall, I would give the cruise about a 4.8. The things that bothered me didn't warrant much of a negative review, so I wouldn't knock the cruise down too much. As for the negative things - I signed up for the cruise about a year early and didn't realize Azamara was going through changes and a new website/computer system set up, etc, and I signed up for all of the excursions at the beginning ...

First Luxury Cruise…Will It Be My Last?

Previously to this cruise, all of my ocean cruises had been on “value” and “premium” lines (RCCL, Carnival, NCL, Celebrity, Princess). I chose this Azamara cruise because the prices for a balcony on this 7-day cruise was only $1675 per person and came with an $800 OBC (per cabin), which isn’t much more expensive than those other lines. (For comparison, the cruise the prior week on same ship was ...
