Amazing staff.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

My first cruise. Staff was very accommodating. If I needed something, or had a question, they were very helpful. So much so, I did leave a nice 'thank you' card, and tip. From the time I embarked, to the time I disembarked, all my needs were met. The food, oh my goodness, what can I say about the food. So much. Masses of food. I had breakfast brought to my room each morning, but the ...

Alaska is a must-do, HAL is a must-avoid

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

My wife and I just returned from a 7-day trip on the Holland America Eurodam from Seattle to Alaska. At the top I will say Alaska is an absolutely must-do destination. Despite our issues with Holland America and the Eurodam, every single stop on the itinerary in Alaska brought at least one “wow” moment. Unfortunately, the ship and line we decided to sail with, the Holland America Eurodam, was a ...

Onboard life good, but in-port experience poor.

Overall, post-COVID life on the Eurodam was about 95% of what is was before the pandemic. We sailed a few days later (May 20, as opposed to about May 12) than usual, and although we noticed some cuts, ship life was still good. The cabin crew is outstanding, the ship was clean and attractive, the food was very good (we like the Lido for wider selection), and lectures were also good. This year they ...

This was our first cruise, so we started with a big one. First about the ship; it was the perfect size for us. We were not traveling with children, so we were not concerned about having a lot of high-energy activities on board. There were plenty of things to do onboard during sea days, and of course the main thing was to be out on the decks enjoying the beauty of Alaska. We really enjoyed each ...

Friends invited us to join them on a cruise to Alaska. I've never been on a cruise before and was really nervous about being on the water. It was perfect weather for t shirts and shorts the entire trip. We went to Juneau, Sitka, etc. We saw whales, black bears, sea otters, seals, eagles and lots of seagulls. There were very few vegan or plant based options. Only almond milk as a non dairy ...

Here are the issues that occurred. We showed up for their fine dining and were told they did not have a reservation. I had the app on my phone as well and I could see the reservation at 6 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023. The staff did not offer to double check, call anyone or offer an alternative, We were not able to participate in that special event due to an error on Holland America’s ...

We chose this cruise because it fit in with other travel plans and we wanted to experience a Holland ship. Overall we had a relaxing time and would recommend. Embarkation was reasonable, but there was a moderate wait for getting through customs and a holding room for getting on the ship. Overall it took about an hour and a half from entering the port to entering the ship (finished around ...

Joined others on this voyage to celebrate one of our travel family member's 80th birthday. She has some 40+ cruises on several different lines, but likes HAL as one of her top 3 lines. Over-all the cruise was enjoyable, but at a lower level in many respects when compared to pre-covid cruises. I think we all understand that the industry lost a ton of money, sold ships to the scrappers to offset ...

We chose this cruise since it was billed as a Big Game Cruise with a Slot Tournament. We didn't book for the Itinerary as we'd been to most of these places before. We booked at a casino rate in an Oceanview cabin. Since we had a room with no balcony we decided to rent a cabana in the Retreat so we could be outside when we wanted to be in our own area. This turned out to be wonderful. Two weeks ...
