We choose Princess Cruise lines because we heard that they were the best cruise line to use when traveling Alaska. Overall, the cruise was very good even though I don't feel Princess offered anymore than any other cruise line could offer. The Royal Princess was a beautiful ship and had no problems handling the number of passengers that were one the ship. The Aloha - 310 cabin was a balcony ...
I chose Princess Cruiseline for our Alaskan cruise because of excellent reviews from family members who had done this trip several years ago. Not only was this my first cruise ever, it was my first trip to Alaska as well. My boyfriend and I flew out from JFK (NYC) into Toronto and on to Vancouver the day before the ship's departure. The security process at the Toronto airport was very slow. We ...
This was my 9th cruise. I was disappointed in the food, the service and the entertainment. Princess used to be the premiere cruise line. Now it's very mediocre, less elegant and felt very much like a Carnival cruise. Everything was very basic and the kids were mostly unaccompanied by adults in the lounge and entertainment areas. No one removed the children from the adult entertaining to the ...
Recently cruised 7 days Anchorage to Vancouver.
I could hardly believe the poor food in the buffet, often lukewarm and poor quality, mostly stews it seemed.
But the worst was the lack of cleanliness. Railings were shiny on top but I usually avoid the top rail because every other person has touched it. The 2nd row was almost always a sticky mess. This is not acceptable.
Buffet on sister ...
The food is less than desirable. You will want to EAT at PORT as much as you can. I had Anytime dining and tried the main dining rooms and Allegro for breakfast. The food overall is bland, and I did not take more than a bite or two from anything I tried for dinner. The main dining rooms were so disappointing I figured the specialty dining rooms had to be better, so I tried Sabatini’s. While ...
What a way to take your first Alaskan Cruise, depart the day after the summer solstice, have the best weather that they have seen in awhile, and do a one way trip up the coast with awesome visibility. Note: heading North get cabin on Starboard, heading South get cabin on Port. This was my first trip with Princess and I will say that the whole experience was enhanced with the introduction of the ...
We got this cruise as a gift from our sons for our 40th anniversary.
The scenery was breath taking. The food on board was nothing to write home about but the ship was extremely clean.
Never offer to share a table because the table has to be filled before they serve you. We were at a table for 8 people the wait time was 45 minutes.
Check your plates or bowls for metal bolts or hair ...
Princess always has been and is still the best cruise line for Alaskan cruises. The itinerary is the best. The cabin was a balcony, the only way to go in Alaska. The cabin steward was extremely efficient and was always on top of keeping the room serviced. The buffet and international cafe are fantastic. Excellent selections, hot food. The International buffet is second to none on alternative to ...
Hadn't cruised for awhile and forgot what I was missing - what a beautiful ship.
Especially enjoyed the Enclave which was a real treat after coming back from the cool weather on shore excursions.
The staff encountered were all warm, helpful and friendly which always helps in enjoying a cruise.
The spa staff were all exceptional - a shout out to the Manager Sophie who does a great job ...
We booked this cruise just two weeks before and have never cruised before, so we didn't know what we were in for. It was definitely a pleasant surprise and a great voyage. The ports of call are typical for an alaska cruise. Tip: don't book with the ship, go in town and shop around for tours. Embarkation was seamless, we were worried that the only thing open was the buffet and that it would be a ...
