This was our 2nd time on the Gem in two years. Overall we really enjoy our cruise and the itinerary was perfect. We mainly chose this cruise due to the itinerary, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, and St. Thomas. 11 days is perfect. I find 7 is too short. I am a Platinum member so I loved the quirks. Boarding took some time, but once on board received luggage in an adequate time. Was too late for lunch, so went to the limited buffet in the back of the ship. Crowded seating inside because it was still cold but still had no trouble.

Getting on and off the boat was a breeze as was the shore trips. Way too much smoke in the casino, none smokers were out of luck to play any games unless you wanted to smell like an ashtray after.The staff were all friendly and we felt like they were really glad to help not just getting paid to do so.Maybe a little more variety in the onboard activities on the sea days.

I enjoy a smaller ship like the GEM. The layout is very easy to learn and never many lines.
O'Sheehan's restaurant in the Atrium is a great place to enjoy a small meal anytime of the day or night. The Caribbean band, Tropical 4, was awesome. Fabulous cruise from start to finish! Staff is amazing! Very friendly & helpful. Couldn’t ask for better.
