The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Disappointing

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We chose this cruise secondary to the itinerary. The cabin was quite small compared to other NCL ships we have been on. Our steward did not turn down our bed three nights out of seven and did not receive our usual towel animal five of the seven nights. The food in the formal restaurant was inedible much of the time, had to go to the buffet or O'Sheehans for food after disappointing meals. The ...

Do not celebrate your special occasions here!

When I made the reservation for my friend and I and our husbands, I mentioned to NCL agent that we are celebrating my 44 year anniversary. Big year right? Who can say that these days! The agent told me they will send us a cake with a card to celebrate our special occasion..We were left empty!! Our mattress was so uncomfortable that my husband and I received back pain. One week later, we are ...

A Gem of a Cruise

We had taken many cruises on the Disney Cruise Line but we hadn't tried any other lines or taken a northern cruise and this one did not disappoint. We did Halifax, St. John, Boston, New Port, and New York City. The Gem is an older ship, but very well maintained and not as big as some of the newer additions. The excursions were good, well organized and worth the money. I especially enjoyed the ...

Fall Leaves were Great

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

The fall leaves were gorgeous. The weather was too cold to enjoy the outdoor areas very much. I think in the future I might choose an itinerary with fewer ports, as we exhausted ourselves with port after port. However, some people might love that. But I did love the ports. And I would hate to have missed any of them. This late in the year (early October), it was dark for most of the ...

A Unique Experience

We stumbled on this cruise while checking out Latitudes offers. I was hesitant but my wife had never been out East so this would check quite a few boxes for her and I had 2 or 3 places I would be willing to go see. The thought of doing the Atlantic Provinces & New England by cruise ship never actually occurred to us but once we learned about it, we thought it might be a good way to see a part ...

An interesting cruise in Canada

The Canadian Cruise was the first for us in that area and was a great experience. The trip was set up by a local cruise club and every detail was handled by our tour guide including excursions and travel. We opted for the eight night meal package which turned out to be very nice for most of the restaurants. We also had the drink package that was offered and found that to be very nice. The main ...

Disappointing

Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. Ship was a good size not to big. Cabin was large and roomy we paid for that. We found the food on this ship terrible like a restaurant that you would never go back to but instead we are stuck for 12 days. We did go to all the specialty dining restaurants and found Cagney's to be ok nothing special. I was also disappointed that here we were in the sea ...

Great itinerary and production cast, other aspects so-so

Took the Canada/New England cruise with a last-minute solo offer and was my second cruise on NCL. Overall it was great value, but food and service were not as good as the Norway cruise on NCL Star two years ago. ★The GOOD★ Excellent itinerary (overnight at Quebec and 8 other ports of call) with reasonable port hours and just two sea days. Dock at Quebec City was farther away from the old ...

Scammed by NCL upgrade bidding process!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

The cruise cost us $4720.90 more than we had planned for due to their faulty, fraudulent and difficult bidding process. We talked to many people at NCL ending with K in the executive offices and got nowhere! All she kept saying was that we bid and that the transaction was binding and irreversible. She said that there was absolutely no one else we could talk to above her! They refused to believe ...

Truly an Average Cruise. For me, in 1 word, underwhelming.

We took this cruise because of a very attractive, bargain basement, clearance fare on the cruise. We cruise regularly, but this would be our first time with Norwegian. While initially impressed by the ease of embarkation (Tip #1 - arrive later in the day on embarkation day) and the initial impression of the ship, we were overall disappointed by our Norwegian experience. The Cabin, an inside ...
