Disappointing

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

This was our 2nd cruise on the Solstice, the first being in 2016 and could not fault anything. But what a difference a year makes! The ship is beautiful and elegant and spotlessly clean. Staff amazing and always friendly and helpful, cannot fault them. We felt that Celebrity had lost its edge and certainly cut back on lots of little things. There was very little entertainment during the day, ...

Second time on the Solstice - time for a change

We had a great Cruise on Solstice over NY 2015/16 so booked again and upgraded to sky suite. Loved the perks and the wonderful staff however the Sky suite BADLY needed new pillows and a bed. When you book a suite you do not expect a bed to sag so badly and the sofa pillows to be more comfy then whats on the bed. They no longer offer a pillow menu. However the staff of the solstice made up ...

First time on Celebrity, not that impressed

While I normally cruise with Princess, Celebrity offered the itinerary we wanted. We paid extra for the "Concierge Class". Not worth it. The ship was lovely, but nothing really stood out other than the Hot Glass Show (which was fantastic!). While I have never had a "bad" cruise, I am not sure why Celebrity is billed as a "premium" cruise line. It was just not all that special. Service was ...

Not 5 star

Our party of 4 were expecting a lot from this ship. Travel agents advertised it as 5 star but we were all of the opinion this was not the case. Embarkation took 2 hours, with both the cruise line and international terminal both blaiming each other. Constant queueing onboard and for a 2800 passenger ship seemed very bad organisation. Bar service, no matter which bar was very poor. I can only assume ...

The Incredible Magical NZ Sounds

We chose this cruise to see the Fiordland National Park 'The Sounds' in New Zealand. What an amazing cruise this was. The Sounds were spectacular as was the beautiful ship the Celebrity Solstice. From the moment we went onboard everything about this ship was amazing. It certainly was 5 star luxury. The stateroom we chose was 7163 with a balcony and it did not dissapoint. There was plenty of room ...

We chose the cruise so we could tick NZ off our bucket list. Such a wonderful trip made special by fabulous friendly staff!! Food was of a high standard and we particular enjoyed dining at the Japanese Restauarant called Sushi on 5. You must try the spicy mango martini!! Rooms are superb, beds generous in size , bathroom well appointed and balcony good size as well !! Embarkation was a tad ...

I did a Baltic cruise in 2009, I was overwhelmed buy the luxury, high class status the cruise offered, also by the very personal attitude from all staff, it was extremely upper class, this was one of the best experience and cruise I ever had, so this year for my 60th Birthday I thought a trip to New Zealand would be a trip of a life time, and who better than to do it with was Celebrity Cruise. My ...

First time cruise - Fantastic experience

My partner (30) and myself (28) chose this cruise initially based on reviews we had read on this website. Firstly I would like to say what an amazing experience all round. It was an older crowd probably average age 50+ but there were however guests close to our age on board and quite a lot of them also. We actually mixed more with older guests that we met. We met some lovely people. Our ...

Fantastic cruise on a beautiful ship!

Second time on the beautiful Solstice, third cruise with Celebrity, lived up to all our expectations, 10/10! Embarkation and disembarkation in Sydney were both very smooth and handled very well. The ship is beautiful, always spotlessly clean in all areas. Every member of staff we met was smiling and friendly and always greeted every guest with a "good morning/ afternoon/ welcome on board/ ...

First time and loved it

This was our first cruise and it was with a bit of trepidation that we booked it. We made sure it was not a school holiday period as we wanted some relax time. Booked a stateroom veranda and secured a starboard room on Deck 8. Great location with terrific view. ( a tip though..if you want a more economical cruise you could go inside cabin as we hardly spent time in the cabin and as much as I ...
