A disappointing cruise

I specifically picked this cruise based on the published route to travel north between Vancouver island and the Canadian mainland of British Columbia. We wanted see the beautiful Canadian coastline. So what does this captain do but go right out the strait of Juan de Fuca and miles out into the Pacific Ocean before turning north to Alaska. We missed the entire Canadian coastline and the ...

My wife and I started talking about our first cruise a year out. A friend at work and his wife are avid cruisers with lots of experience with various cruise lines. Another friend is also an avid cruiser and a travel agent (we booked our cruise through her). Between the two, we got lots of good advice. Reviewing the various cruise lines available, we were interested in being around career ...

Took cruise in late July. Booked the Celebrity Suite (1615) along with 2 Ocean View cabins (bow facing) for my 2 married children. Celebrating my 35th anniversary. Overall trip was outstanding and I will be cruising Celebrity again. Not sure why some of the reviews have been so poor as Celebrity definitely an upgrade (IMO) over Carnival, RCL, and NCL (my previous experience). Having a suite ...

Wonderful Cruise Of Alaska On A Fine Ship

We arrived in Seattle the afternoon before sailing. My wife and I were in Seattle after a cross country train trip in September, and we had enjoyed the traditional tourist destinations at that time. It is one of the most beautiful destinations on the west coast and has some of the best food we have had. We highly recommend Pike Market as an enjoyable location, especially with a tour guide who is ...

Celebrity is not what it used to be

This was our 3rd sailing with Celebrity. Don't get me wrong, Alaska was AMAZING. The passage thru Endecott fjord and the Dawes glacier was a true Experience. The ship got very close to the glacier and Captain Tasos made sure everyone got a good view from their balcony, regardless what side of the ship you were on. If it hadn't been for Captain Tasos and Steve, the cruise director, I might ...

I always heard Celebrity was one of the better cruise lines but was very disappointed. The ship itself was nice, clean and well-maintained. The food was only average at best. The main dining room food was mass produced and something you might get in a regular cafeteria (Morrison's, Wyatt's, etc). The evening entertainment was good. The captain was great, enjoyed his updates-the ones we could ...

This was a fabulous trip for my husband and I. Celebrity Solstice is a very elegant ship. I prefer Celebrity over Carnival for an adult experience. (Carnival cruises seem more kid friendly and family oriented). Very lovely room with balcony that we spent plenty of time enjoying. Excellent food. Select dining in the main dining area worked excellently for us as a party of 2 (as opposed to a ...

This was my 5th and my wife's 6th cruise. We have done 3 with Celebrity and never been disappointed. We spent 2 days in Seattle before the cruise and it is a great place to visit. Pike Place Market is wonderful spot and there are lots of interesting places on the adjoining streets. We had brunch at Cafe Champagne, a charming French Bistro. Don't miss the Chihuly Glass Museum at the Needle. We had ...

Alaska was wonderful, Celebrity was meh

It was a mixed bag for us: We were in concierge class and for the first time in 9 cruises I can say our room steward was not up to par. Our room was actually dirty (coffee stains, clumps of hair, the last guest's medicine bag, stains in the bathroom) when we arrived and that set the tone for the rest of the cruise. We were also surrounded by kids screaming, slamming doors and running up and ...

The whole boat was clean and very good looking. I couldn't walk 15 feet without a crew member smiling and politely greeting me. I loved the activities and shows. There is enough food onboard to feed an army, and the best part is that most of it is free of charge. There is so much onboard entertainment, you name it, from movies to comedy shows, they have it. I didn't participate in any, but there ...
