Average for a couple of reasons.....

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Splendor

We selected this cruise because we got a fabulous rate, no one was going to be home for Christmas, and Carnival has been my cruise line of choice for a variety of reasons. The ship is showing the need for some renovation, but it's in generally fine shape. The food is always enjoyable (I'm always amazed by people who complain about cruise food--how do they really eat at home? Who serves them? ...

Took a bit to get over the decor. Not pretty. The ship is nice, the cabin was more than adequate. Inside, deck 1. The entertainment was not good at all. The shows although they had good themes and possibilities, the singers with the exception of one girl... were awful. They tortured songs from the 50's to the 90's. The cruise director MarQ was absolutely by far the best Cruise ...

We just got off the Carnival Splendor today, and have what I would call a mixed review. First, the cruise director, MarQ, was excellent. He had a high level of enthusiasm and was an excellent speaker. He is funny, and did a great job entertaining the passengers. Second, the ports were excellent. We stopped in Nassau, Antigua, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Third, the ship was very kid ...

With all the talk about the ship décor, we hardly noticed it. We cruise to relax and enjoy the experience, not to spend our time picking things to death. That said let me tell you this was one of the most enjoyable cruises we have taken thanks mostly to the outstanding staff on this ship. First, if you ever get to take a cruise with Marc Q as director do yourself a favor and book it ! He will make ...

Late 2016 my husband, brother and I secretly booked a cruise for my mom's 70th birthday.. however that one was on the Fascination porting in Puerto Rico and sailing to St Martin, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Barbados.. The hurricanes this past season as everyone knows clobbered several Caribbean islands, some which we where slated to sail to.. Puerto Rico eventually got their port ...

Choose this because of original itinerary . Eastern Caribbean - St Thomas, San Juan, Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Because of hurricanes Ended up with more of a Bahamas cruise- Nassau, Amber Cove, Grand Turk and was to be Half Moon Cay but that was changed to Freeport. Excursion for Freeport was a hop on hop off 4 stop tour. On a no window bus. 1 st stop was a tour of Perfume factory but ...

Overall miserable uncomfortable experience, will not sail this cruise line again

Will not take Carnival Cruise Lines ever again. Had this been my first cruise, I would never cruise again. Pros (yes a few) - easy check in, few lines, always could find a lounge chair, table, etc., pretty good live bands, good service (especially from the many Filipino crew members), and the common areas were always clean (but they did not use best practices in food areas), actual TV channels in ...

Nice Cruise

Overall a good cruise. MarQ was a great cruise director! Service was Good! The shows were entertaining, and the music around the ship was good as well. The comedians onboard were okay. It rained at one of the ports (Roatan) and the decks were soaked-a hazard as many people slipped and fell. Despite this- the ship was kept clean and maintained It seems as though Carnival has cut back ...

Carnival Splendor is an older ship and you can definitely tell. Well maintained and clean though. Food was hit and miss in the dining room. Elsewhere food was average. Can't beat the price of the cruise...I mean you're at sea still, right?! Service was average. Same as the entertainment. You definitely get what you pay for...but again, can't complain because you are on a cruise!!!!! Had a great ...

We chose this cruise for timing and itinerary it was our 23rd anniversary. DAY 1 We had Fttf so boarding was a breeze we were eating lunch by noon. we dropped our carry-on in room and went to the BBQ spot quick service good eats. We traveled around the ship trying to learn where everything was this ship was very confusing having to go up or down to get around the Black Pearl dining area ( I ...
