This cruise was a good vacation, overall, but there were a few misses along the way.
We drove into the port the day prior to embarkation and stayed at the Hampton Inn. The hotel was right across from Wal Mart (Which was convenient for grabbing last minute items we forgot to pack.), our room was clean, staff was friendly, and the view was nice as well.

This was a sister cruise for the three of us. This was my 24th cruise and 5th with Carnival.The cabin was not set up for 3 people. For 3 days we had to request the third set of towels. When I opened the closet it was full of wet towels. Yuck! Housekeeping button on phone did not work. Hello again. I posted a review a week ago ("a no no cruise"). This week i took the cruise with my best friend. Embarkation process - very good.
Cabin - a "no no". We had cabin 1456 on deck 1. We were next to the crew's cabins. Our cabin felt like we had an engine below us. Vibrating day and night, ugh!

Carnivals new staggered boarding was a breeze. Our check in time was 12:30, we arrived at 12:05 and were allowed in. There was hardly no line and what line there was getting trough security moved very quickly. We were on the Conquest in January, this being its sister ship we were familiar with the layout. Seemed the décor of this ship was nicer than on the Conquest.

We have previously sailed on Carnival Triumph once, and Magic three times. We love the Magic but it's not sailing out of Galveston which is the most convenient port for us. We ended up sailing on Liberty since our son and his family were going and we thought it would be fun to join them.

We took this cruise, because we wanted to depart from Galveston, since we live in Houston. The embarkation was very smooth. We reserved a suite, and enter the ship around 11:30 am. Loved Carnival Liberty. Had such a fun and relaxing trip, I got home and scheduled another one for Thanksgiving 2017. When you are planning and booking the cruise - you need to realize -- EVERYTHING is extra. The prices were not what we expected at all.

I give 4 stars since this cruise meets all the expectations of a short, close to home Carnival Cruise. I have cruised 16 times, on 3 lines. I'm not a novice.
Carnivals food is on par and compares well with Royal Caribbean and Princess. Their elective pay for restaurant was very good.
