Carnival is hard to beat when it comes to cost. Cruising on Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past I though I knew what to expect when it came to this short getaway. Don't get me wrong we had a good time but I fear to keep cost down, Carnival is cutting to much when it comes to what is needed for a great trip. For example, even though the ship just came out of dry dock it was hardly ...
I will keep my review to just the facts. You take from it what you will. Our room was awesome, we had a Ocean Suite and ended up spending most of our time in there with room service. The food was good and the steakhouse was excellent and a good deal. HOWEVER, there were several things I think parents should be aware of before booking on Carnival, or maybe just this ship as we feel duped to ...
We originally booked on the valor and they changed the ship on us and put on on the LIberty They separated my family by putting them on deck 1 and us on deck 6. After numerous calls they did the right thing and upgraded them to a balcony room on deck 6 not far from us. The cleanliness of the room was ok but my kids room, they were always missing towels and no one ever came in to clean the ...
Timing with track out school break made this our only option for cruising. Stayed at our usual hotel for the cruise package, but cannot honestly recommend them due to a poorly thought out policy of placing a hold of 25% of your hotel bill as a just in case measure, which penalizes honest travelers for the behavior of others which we can not control.
Embarkation was a breeze. From drop off at ...
The overall cruise was nice - but the poor quality of the food overshadowed the entire time. Grossly overcooked meat and fish, about the driest chicken I've ever tasted and bland unimaginative sides. Apple pie that was more like jello and gross cheesecake - and THAT was the formal dining room! The buffet was no better with powdered eggs for breakfast, poor quality EVERYTHING all day long and ...
We had 19 people in our group. All but 1 stateroom was on Deck 1. There was a horrible sewage odor in the hallway and 2 of the staterooms had air-conditioning issues. Both requested fans and only one of the two received a fan. Maintenance tested the temperatures in the rooms and found them to 78 Degrees.
Compared to past Carnival Cruises, I was disappointed in this one. The buffet did ...
I am really unsure why there are so many bad reviews of this cruise. Before going on the cruise, I was very worried that it was going to be like all these reviews state, but it wasn't!
PROS:
-Dinner every night was absolutely delicious. Choices of steak, seafood, lamb, etc. Our waiter Samir was super helpful and always willing to talk or discuss any questions or concerns we had. There was ...
Embarkation went ok, they need better organization because and more room at the counters to assist travelers. Muster was very inefficient and a waste of time. It took almost an hour for them to show us how to put on a life jacket. The employee on the loud speaker could not be heard so we did not hear any instructions, we just heard mumbling. There was no security so children were running up and ...
It was about what I expected for the price - I'd consider Carnival as a low-mid line. It was during Christmas break, so there were a LOT of kids on our cruise (too many for my liking, but they can't do anything about that). Sometimes I felt like I was at Disney. A higher end cruise line probably wouldn't have as many families/kids.
I agree with one other review that I read about the Liberty ...
This was the worse cruise was the worse ever. It was my first one...... Everything went wrong that could go wrong. It was my birthday and Christmas present from my parents. This was my first cruise for all of us and it was TERRIBLE!!!!!
I do now that you can not help mother nature, but we got there at 8 am like they told us because we were signed up for Faster the Fun, and that didn't mean a ...
