Alternate trip to Western Caribbean

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

The ship had a new crew and they were very inexperienced and not very committed. The Windjammer food and experience was very disappointing: food was below average, service was average. Chops just could not get it together. We eat at Chops on every cruise, and this one was a total fail. They brought the wrong steaks, the steaks that they brought were improperly cooked, the service was amateur, and ...

We choose cruises by itineraries. Some of the newer ships don't have the ports we enjoy, so Freedom was a great choice. Although we were unable to do the exact itinerary due to the hurricane damage, Royal did their best to substitute other ports. Only port that we do not find enjoyable is Ocho Rios...so we stayed on ship. We have been on 33 cruises and we truly enjoy the Freedom class. We ...

No Longer Royal

We have always loved Royal Caribbean but after this cruise we can no longer honestly recommend it. The quality in service, amenities and overall experience has decreased to an all time low. In years past we enjoyed the splendor of being treated like royalty while enjoying the luxury of the grand ships. This is however no longer the case. While our waitstaff was wonderful it was apparent that ...

Our loyalty has been lost !!!

We had to educate staff on various expectations, we were told the bars were not provided with enough water - we had to search the ship each night to find some. We now had to pay for room service were as this used to be one of our great delights. The rooms were supplied with cheap, scratchy toilet paper and no tissues. The Waite staff was reduced to 2 people (it used to be 3). We were informed ...

Worst Ship Ever

This was the first trip on Royal Caribbean and the only thing fun was shopping with Matt or the ports when getting off the ship even though that was a problem because they would tell us to go one place and it would not be correct and half to be rerouted to another location. There were a lot of problems with the room and what was going on with the ship like when trying to get on we were rushed on ...

First Royal Caribbean Cruise

A friend who is a Diamond with RC recommended and helped set up the cruise since it was our first. It was a fantastic experience. The crew is professional, warm, caring, and all around "good people" who love their jobs and want to create an extraordinary experience for their passengers. I only have two suggestions. One, they need to hire more bartenders and bar wait staff. Too often people ...

Have been on 14 cruises previously with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. I was extremely dissatisfied with this cruise, something seemed off the entire time. Always had good experiences before with Royal Caribbean. Not sure if new staff, tired staff or lack of proper supervision the cause. It never appeared to improve during this cruise. Food was extremely disappointing. Have eaten at Giovanni’s ...

This fit our holiday time line. We had been on 2 other cruises with a different cruise line so going with RC we thought it would be nice for a change. Well needless to say not overly impressed. The majority of the staff were not friendly (this we also heard from many other travelers which some are loyal RC travelers). The food selection in the dining lounge was ok but if I wanted a nice steak I ...

My wife and I decided on the Freedom of the seas because the date of departure was exactly what we were looking for . I have cruised a lot with RCCL and you never can't go wrong with them. Service is excellent, starting with crew members, waiters, and cabin steward which by the way was the more than excellent . SERVICE IS # 1 As to our cabin we did not want to spend much , and by the way ...

Freedom of the Seas Good....and Bad

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

We chose this cruise because it best fit our timeline and budget. The worst day of the cruise was embarkation day as we were next in line and the security checkpoint was shutdown for 2 hours. I would have been easier to deal with, however all waiting passengers were sent back outside to stand for 2 hours while to breach was figured out. there seemed to be no procedure in place for this except for ...
