2 weeks cruise with had a very good itinerary inc 4 days in Havana Cuba. Also stops at- Belize City, Roatan Island Honduras, Costa Maya Mexico, Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman & Jamaica
We thought Havana Cuba was brilliant and the other destinations were all worth a short visit with some interesting sights inc Mayan Temples.
The itinerary was 4*
The ship however was a weak 3* ...
After along flight (not direct) we arrived in Havana. Luggage was taken direct to the ship, we were advised to take some clothes etc for the following day ( in hand luggage)just in case our luggage was delayed - due to rigorous checks by Cuban Authorities.Ours arrived after midnight.
Our cabin was disappointing. It was tiny. We had booked a partial view - more like no view.
We never had a ...
Chosen as we are family of 5 so budget important + itinerary. Did two weeks (back to back 7 day cruises which around 20% of the passengers die).
We have cruised around 11 times before but limited to 4 Royal Caribbean cruises (our favourite), 6 Costa cruises and one previous MSC cruise (chosen again due to great ports not catered by others).
Flight out by Iberia was smooth. We did not book ...
We were sold the Aurora package which we were led to believe it included everything all food extra dining etc. We paid significantly more for this package. As soon as we boarded we were hit up to pay extra for the complete drinks package. The package we purchased onl provided house wine and basic beer. I would advise anyone going on a MSC cruise to not buy any package until the board the ship a ...
I chose this cruise because of the destination. The service in the buffet dining room is terrible, it is hard to order drinks because the staff are mostly chatting with each other, or just walking around like a robot, they don't even check the tables if they are dirty, they go walk around not noticing anything. Once they have your drink order, it takes about 10 minutes to arrive.
The food is ...
We've cruised extensively but this is our first on MSC, we chose this ship for the itinerary and date. Firstly the flight on Air Europa was horrendous, inedible food, no leg room miserable hostesses and no screens through the journey.
If you fancy a ship that's noisy and raucous with loud announcements in five languages, where smoking Is prevalent, where the dress code is blatantly ignored, ...
We choose this cruise because it was well-priced and the itinerary starting in Havana was a bit different than what other cruise lines had to offer. We flew to Varadero first, had a couple pf days in a wonderful all- inclusive resort. The transfer to Havana port from Varadero is about 2 hours, we arrived by the ship around 6pm. Very efficient embarkation, did not need to wait very long anywhere, ...
There were three things we liked about this cruise: the ship itself, the itinerary, and the cheerfulness of the long-suffering staff. That's where the good news ends. The root of the trouble was MSC itself, whose policy seems to us to be to pay for its ambitious fleet-building by screwing every last cent out of its operations. We experienced this in two ways:
1. Penny-pinching. If you think a ...
All in all it was a great cruise. The travel to and from Cuba was horrific.
The trip down:
Sunwing well organized at Montreal airport - speedy check-in. Flight about 30 minutes late leaving - seats so close together one feels like a sardine - cannot cross legs and when the passenger in the seat puts his seat back ........ Small glass of sparking wine (Champagne Service!) and purchased food ...
