This is the easiest way to see Hawaii without packing and unpacking. Sadly, we did not get to see the Big Island, but this just gives us a reason to go back!!!
It frustrates me to see all the POOR reviews about the Pride of America!!! Is it a huge, fancy ship? No.....it’s an older ship, but still in great shape and taken care of!!! We had a balcony cabin. It was small, but it served its ...
I choose Pride of America because I thought it would be a nice way to see 3 of the Hawaiian islands. Due to the volcano, I was concerned of an itinerary change therefore, I called everyday but was told that nothing has been altered. The day before we sailed, when it was too late to cancel I received notification of the change in itinerary. The fact that NCL altered the itinerary of the cruise ...
Our 1st cruise was fabulous. We arrived in Honolulu the day before and it was the perfect way to get ready to cruise. Checking in was a breeze, everyone was very courteous and helpful. The staff on the ship were wonderful, friendly and helpful and always a genuine smile on their faces. The cabin was clean and fresh.
The food at the Aloha Cafe (which is where we ate most of the time) was ...
We took this cruise to see the islands on Hawaii. Unfortunately the eruption of the volcano kept us from visiting the Big Island. The cruise line chose to inform us the day before the cruise left although they knew at least a week in advance. The food was mediocre in our opinion comparing to other cruise lines we have been on. Food was not available 24 hours as other cruise lines offer. Check in ...
My friend and I planned a bucket list cruise to Hawaii on NCL Pride of America. I've always wanted to see a volcano, go to a luau and see paradise! The islands did not dissapoint, but NCL did.
Customer Service: poor. We were informed two days before we sailed that there would be a change in our itinerary. We would not be going to Hilo or Kona due to the volcano. They should have ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to see as much of Hawaii as we could in a week. This cruise does deliver that. However, when you pay for a cruise you also expect to be treated to a nice cruise. The ship and cruise has the potential to be wonderful, but misses the mark in several areas. First, the organization of embarkation, activities, and disembarkation is very spotty. Some things were ...
NCL Pride of America pales in comparison with the fun, good food and friendly environment in the other NCL International Vessels.
The Shore excursion attendants were not as friendly and as accommodating as well. Maybe they were over worked, tired or simply not in the mood. But they signed up for the job so they should deliver.
When going to an island with an overnight stay, I strongly ...
About us: We are two semi retired educators in our mid-60's who love to travel. We've logged 70,000+ miles on Amtrak and ViaRail Canada and have traveled the entire length of the Mississippi River on steamboats but had never taken a cruise. This one had been on our bucket list for years, so we decided it was time to go for it! Overall we had a wonderful time! Given some of the reviews we read our ...
The Pride of America was the second half of our honeymoon, and our 15th cruise together. If you use the ship as a hotel for a 7 day trip to see the highlights of the Hawaiian Islands, you’ll likely be very happy. We stayed in Honolulu for four nights before getting on the ship, as this was out first time to Hawaii. We had no problems getting around Oahu, and had a great time. For first timers, ...
This is the only cruise that begins and ends in HI. Those that leave/return to the west coast don't visit as many ports. While we were disappointed that Pele prevented us from visiting the big island, we rec'd a credit for the planned shore excursions and the captain swung into action and filled the time adequately. Bonus is that it was the only time we left a cruise ship with a ...
