Throwing Caution to the Wind (Hurricane)

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Valor

This was only my fourth cruise, but it may be my last. We had no trouble with embarkation; everything went smoothly. Once we got on board, I did notice that things seemed worn and dated. The decor of this ship is rather tacky and there were many spots that needed to be overhauled. Tiles were cracking, plaster was coming off of columns, etc. The stateroom crew and dining wait staff were pleasant ...

This was our 17th cruise on Carnival, so we know the routine. We went down a day early and embarkation was great. We are Platinum , so that helps a lot. The ship is an older one and is well maintained. I wish that it had already undergone the upgrades ( due next spring), but we knew that when we booked. Nassau, St. Thomas. San Juan were good to visit. We had some weather issues and were not able ...

Basic Average Cruise; More Facts than Opinion

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

This was our 8th cruise on Carnival with one each the past four years on the Legend, Dream, Sunshine and Valor. Have sailed on seven other cruise lines. There appeared to be many more first time cruisers on this sailing and far less gold, platinum and diamond customers than the last few years. The first part of the review will be fact based and the second part personal ...

Nice Cruise

We cruised from Port Canaveral to the Eastern Carribbean, the embarkation was easy and we were on the ship within an hour of arriving at the port. We had a problem with our luggage, as one piece was delivered at 5:30 then the other around 6:30, apparently it had been search and they confiscated the small fan I had brought, which I did not know you couldn't bring, and the zipper was broke on one ...

One of the best Cruises we have been on

First off, I have never written a review before regarding a cruise, but this one was so good, I jus had to say something. This was our fifth cruise, so here we go. The day before we departed we discovered that we booked our balcony directly under the lido deck and we were pretty concerned that it would be too loud. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that it was a very quite room #8445. We ...

25th Anniversary Cruise, Gone Bad

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Valor

We were so excited about this cruise and an optimistic attitude when boarding. The boarding process was very smooth and went pretty quick when you look at how many passengers were trying to board. Took a couple of hours to get luggage to our room which was not bad at all. Trouble started at dinner on the first night, we were criticized by another couple at our table for not wearing appropriate ...

Carnival is the WalMart of cruising

My wife and I had the opportunity to sail on Carnivals Valor western Caribbean sailing. Although we cruise often, we have preferred others to Carnival, but the price point of this sailing was too good to pass up. Embarkation was good. We had purchased the “faster to the fun” package. It was beneficial, and sped up the process greatly. Port Canaveral is upgrading their terminal, and in the ...

Just horrible. This was my first and last cruise with carnival. Boarding was ok considering the amount of guests. It took over 4 hours for our luggage to be delivered to our stateroom. The worst part of our trip was when we discovered bedbugs on the 4th night of the cruise @ 2am! We were moved to another cabin and they took our belongings to be cleaned and steamed (it took 2 days) for them ...

The staff was commendable - excellent service (for the most part). Room stewards were fantastic, cheerful, timely. I always love listening to the wide variety of accents and talking to staff about their home countries. Bizarrely, I found I had to seek out alcoholic beverages more often than I am used to on cruises. The last cruise I went on (not Carnival), staff tended to us in the hot tub, ...

Stateroom 8248 Veranda Deck

My family and I have just returned from our very fun first Cruise! We had a fantastic time. The stateroom was great and the four of us were comfortable in room 8248 (deck 8) with balcony. Embarkation was easy and hassle free, we dropped of our bags and headed straight to the Lido deck for our first lunch on board this amazing cruise line. All staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. We ...
