This was my wife and my 10th cruise. 8 on RCCL and 2 on Carnival. We also had our 2 sons with us, ages 4 and 8. Overall, it was "good", but we will be reconsidering going on another Carnival cruise in the future IF we can find something that is in the same price range, here is why.
The good:
Stateroom 6J 9196. It was AMAZING. We had plenty of space for us all and we even had a twin blowup ...
My wife and I were looking for a nice vacation and booked this cruise kind of at the last minute. This is the first cruise we've taken by ourselves in many years (without kids) so that was nice and made it different than other cruises we've taken. We've been on a handful of cruises, mostly with Carnival.
On the positive side, we booked a suite this time and really loved it. The bathroom was ...
Cabin did not have any of the usual bathroom shampoo, lotions etc.
The personnel were more accommodating than the average ship
The food in the MDR (Washingtons) wasn't really good, just medieocore; for example, the Prime Rib was 1/3 rd. the thickness of most Prime Ribs & quite "grainey" shrimp cocktails have very small shrimp. Caeser salad was tasteless. Again though, the servers were very ...
I recently went on this cruise with my family and it was great! We embarked on the ship very quickly and easily! The ship was recently in dry-dock so when we went on it, it was brand new! Guy's Burger Joint was delicious! The ship had very friendly employees that were always helpful, and we had an awesome cruise director Chris! The ports that we went to were Aruba, Bonaire, and Grand Turk. ...
Very fast embarkation. We (family of four) arrived at the port around 1:30pm and there were no lines, walked right to our cabin to unload. Interior cabin on Lido deck, extremely quiet and dark made for 8 nights of good sleep. Dining room was not as cold as I remember of previous cruises. Food was good. We had your time dining, no lines; service was very slow several nights, close to 2 hrs. The ...
I loved the sea days and the ports this cruise visited. Overall, no major issues with the cruise.......seemed to take an unusual amount of time to get seated at dinner two nights and then on one night, we were seated quickly, but then took a long time to ever get any service. The bar service on decks seemed to be lacking. I have been on cruises before that I was asked about a drink so many ...
We chose this ship because the sail dates worked in our schedule. Demarcation was extremely smooth. We walked right on board. By 1:00 our room was ready and we where off to a great adventure. This was my husband's first cruise and he was very impressed with the cleanliness, efficiency of the staff, and the quality of the food. From the time we arrived at our room we where called by name and all of ...
We chose this cruise because of ports that we had never seen before-Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Amber Cove was just ok but Grand Turk was amazing. This was our third cruise-second with Carnival. We found the Valor to be a fun ship to cruise but were perplexed by the decor. There seemed to be two different themes going on in the same ship and they didn't quite go together. In particular, the ...
Just finished a nice cruise to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic & Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos. The Ship has been recently in dry dock and the upgrades are nice. Guy's Burger Joint was delicious. The adults only area of the ship was peaceful and not crowded, with nice views of the surrounding sea. I took a cab from Amber Cove ($50.00) negotiated down from $80.00. The driver stays with you the entire ...
We drove to Port Canaveral and took advantage of the "Park and Cruise" at Radisson Resort by the Port hotel the night before. The shuttle took us right over the next morning and check in was quick and easy...we were able to board immediately thanks to Fast Pass to Fun. We were in the pool with a drink before noon.
The ship is not new but it is nice. The decor is a bit wacky to me. Valor = ...
