First time on Princess

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Caribbean Princess

This was our first time with Princess. We loved how on embarking, you were not forced to eat in the buffet. Past cruises have guided all guests to this area. So, that was a good start. Because most of the activities were scattered in other areas of the ship, the atrium was a relaxing place to sit and listen to the music, while enjoying a tea or coffee. Didn't like having to pay for a pot of ...

Excellent Ports, Average Ship Experience

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Caribbean Princess

We chose this cruise for the variety of ports covered. We enjoy port intensive cruises. Embarkation was pretty smooth. They kind of put you in a holding pattern after check in. I've never experienced this before but it was fine-about a 20 minute wait. The main reason for the average rating? The room. Stained carpet. Stains on walls and doors, door jams. Peeling wallpaper. Black around the ...

Ports of Call great---ship needs some work done on it.

We enjoyed the ports of call except for missing Le Havre on the 12 day British Isles portion of the cruise. But the ship needs some serious work done on it. The air conditioning didn't seem to work all through the night --we would wake up sweating. The shower water temperature was never regulated. It would go from Hot to cold & back again after just a couple days into the cruise. I reported ...

British Isles cruise

We have been away from Princess for a while. Ours was the British Isles cruise not the transatlantic. We booked through Online Vacations and had 2 nights in London then on to the Caribbean Princess. The transfers worked well, embarkation was a snap. Lunch at the Market Place. A few noticeable changes were silverware in bins on the table and tableside service for all drinks (or anything else ...

First Time, Last Time

We chose the cruise based upon the itinerary, as this included LeHarve, as we wanted to go to Normandy. Unfortunately, there was a port strike and we couldn't dock there. That being said, we had heard very nice things about Princess, so we decided to try them. We have been loyal to Celebrity and Holland America. From the boarding process, to disembarkation, one would have thought this was ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary and our friends 45th . We have sailed with princess over 25 times. The plus- our cabin attendant Ariel was wonderful, the rest was as expected. Just ok, the food was ok, the service was ok, the entertainment was pretty good but there was nothing to go wow about. Out of wine in vines and dining room - how a ship could run out of lots of ...

Did not live up to expectations

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, however I was led to believe that Princess was a notch higher than Celebrity so my expectations took this into consideration. This was not the case, this Princess cruise did not come close to my experience on Celebrity. The ship is older and it shows in the set-up of the ship and the condition of the cabins. Our's wasn't particularly clean ...

British Isles cruise on Caribbean Princess ship.

We chose this cruise because of the ports and itinerary. The ship did not have an indoor pool or theatre. Both were outdoors. Going to the northern UK is too cold for outdoor amenities, so this was truly disappointing to us. The staterooms, food, condition of the ship and service were good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt safe and cared for. The ship excursions were quite ...

We cancelled an Oceania cruise with similar ports to cruise with Princess and two other couples. We are all retired and selected a non-peak date and took our chance with the weather. It was first cruise with Princess. The port selections were wonderful. Due to bad weather we skipped channel islands but picked it up again on the back end due to La Harve being cancelled. We were disappointed ...
