Panama Canal cruise

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Caribbean Princess

I have cruised with different cruise lines before and this was my first time cruising with Princess. I chose Princess due to the itinerary, right timing for us to go and good price (it was on sale at the time). I traveled with my husband (59 years old) and son (11 years old). Embarkation: the process was fairly smooth, no long lines. After going through the immigration there was about ...

Good but not great--would still cruise Princess again

Price and time of the year of the cruise were reason for cruising Caribbean Princess. Food servers were above expectations. The food servers would serve drinks when passengers would sit done for a meal on the Lido deck. They paid attention to detail and were generally friendly. Room was adequate--shower smaller than showers on CCL ships. However, public bathrooms, although limited ...

Booked one week before cruise for a good value. Used Princess EZ Air for flights Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale (big mistake). We each were assigned middle seats on opposite sides of the aisle for the longest flight legs each way (on line check in 21 and 24 hours before departure). Flight to cruise got us into Fort Lauderdale at 5:30 AM. To retrieve our baggage we had to exit secure area. Starbucks ...

My husband and I sailed on the Caribbean Princess Nov. 20th. thru the 30th. We did the Panama Canal. The ship was beautiful along with our room and the ports of call were amazing. This was our fifth time cruising with Princess. The first night we decided to go to the dining room, when arriving we were told about a 30 minute wait, not a problem for us at all. When we got to the end of the line we ...

Took the 10 day Panama Canal cruise as it was one of my bucket list destinations and the timing was good as i had just retired. There were a few positive but unfortunately a lot of negatives. However overall i enjoyed the cruise. Had taken 2 previous cruises with Princess and 4 cruises with other companies. Positives - For the most part i found any staff i encountered to be friendly and ...

First time on a Princess cruise -- very impressed with one big negative

We chose this cruise because it journeyed to new locations, for us. Plus, the chance to pass through the Panama Canal is a Bucket List experience. We wanted that for our kids, and we needed a relaxing vacation after a very stressful year. Previous cruises have been on Royal Caribbean and Carnival, and we found Princess to be superior in just about every way. With our kids, Carnival cruises out ...

Geriatric Cruise, Average age guessing 70. The Panama Canal crossing was great. Started before dawn though and made for a long day as we went on a excursion immediately after and were stuck in traffic and did not return to the ship until 8:00 p.m. The excursions provided by the cruiseline were average. "Hurry up and look and move on." Panama City tour needs rearranged. You end up across ...

NOT HAPPY WITH THIS SHIP AT ALL

I have to say the ship was the worst that i have been on and i paid the most. i have been on at least 13 cruises over the past 10 years and would never recommend this ship. The improvements they made were pretty much undetected. The cabin, which was a balcony was extremely small. 2 of us in the room and very little space for anything. The shower was ridiculously small. I am only 5'2" and can't ...

This cruise was not bad, it just didn’t meet our expectations.

We cruised on the Caribbean Princess on the 10-day Panama Canal tour October 31 to November 10, 2017. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise but when we compared it to our experience on the Crown Princess Alaska cruise a couple of years ago, this cruise was not quite at the same level. This ship used their life boats as tenders instead of ferries. The life boats bounced around a lot, even with ...

Horrible cruise

This was our 12th cruise and first time on princess. As the old saying goes you can only make a first impression once. Well they did, and it was terrible. Cabin: We had a balcony cabin which pretty small but the worse thing was the shower. I am 5ft 10 and and average build, and I barely fit in the shower, I felt sorry for people who were on the large side. Food: We did anytime ...
