Our cruise...sorry....Voyage on the beautiful Queen Mary 2 in November across the Atlantic was a very relaxed and tranquil affair. The vast majority of passengers were British over 70’s and as a 43 year old I felt quite a youngster for the first time in a while. The boarding in New York was not the most pleasant we have experienced, with long queues. However once we arrived on board, the QM2 was ...
Queen Mary 2 has a special place in my cruising heart. As the last ocean liner is it a unique experience to sail on this ship. This trip was to form. The weather was November weather on the Atlantic, rainy, windy and often chilly. But the crew as very efficient and attentive. It was a great way to be away, meet interesting new people and pursue interests not found on land. I took a private car ...
As a solo traveler this holiday was amazing. Embarkation in Southampton extremely well organised. Cabin 5006 lovely, food good sometimes outstanding.Top tips. Talk to strangers, there are some amazing people onboard. FOD, LGBT+ group at 5pm each evening was great. Spa pass brilliant. Flowers in my room, bottle of gin and some of my own wine made all the difference in my cabin. Also fresh coffee, ...
This cruise was part of a Cruise 1st package lasting 35 days travelling on 3 cruise ships 2 hotel stays and 27 hour train journey. The cruise ships and hotels plus train journey were all chosen by Cruise 1st as were the dates.
The Embarkation was perfect. No sooner had we arrived at the ship we were escorted to check in and five minutes later on the ship and directed to the buffet restaurant ...
We chose this cruise because we had massive items to transport from US to Germany, and because I have a back problem. We booked a package that included 2 days at 5 star hotel on Times Square in NYC -- wonderful.
Embarcation a little slow, but ok. The gym and daily YOGA classes were great for my back; steward excellent. I was content to contemplate the Atlantic, even though with two wind ...
I had read so many reviews for Cunard and decided that seeing I had to go to the States for family reasons I would try a ship instead of all the hassle of airports. The crew were first class, food great, entertainment superb. Force 12 gale and not much movement. The only downside was disembarkation in New York, they only had 4 immigration desks open for over 2000 passengers , this caused massive ...
Embarkation:
The flight from Germany to London Heathrow went well, also the privately organized transport to Southampton. (South Coast Chauffeurs- highly recommend) I arrived in Southampton at about the exact time which was given me by Cunard! There was a quite a long queue in front of the Queen Elisabeth2 Terminal. I was prepared for a long wait but it turned out to be a very fast moving ...
Return journey from New York 18 days round trip ,the pinnacle being a half day tour of New York , but only got only 23 minutes in the Big Apple. If I wanted 18 days non stop at sea would have joined the Merchant Navy.
After leaving New York on our MINI expedition made our way to Brooklyn Harbour to board the QM2 , no problems here swift embarkation & check in.
However this is where after ...
This was our tenth crossing on the QM2 and our 25th cruise overall. We return to the QM2 because it is an ocean liner and because we love many of the beautiful public rooms such as the Chart Room, the Commodore Club, the Britannia restaurant, and the library. We find plenty to do and prefer crossing on the QM2 to air travel over the Atlantic.
On this crossing the boarding and disembarkation ...
We crossed the Atlantic from New York. Our 4th cruise on QM2 and it did not disappoint. QM2 never lets you down.
The balcony cabin, close to mid-ship was superb with a bottle of wine waiting for us as we are Platinum members. Freshly laundered robes, shampoos etc supplied, chocolate on pillow every night. Very adequate shower. Comfortable King size bed. Coffee and tea making facilities. ...
