Cunard trading on passed glory, only 5th cruise but very disappointing.

We chose this cruise as was on bucket list to cruise Cunard thinking it would be the best of the best. Embarkation painless, quick and very efficient. Cabin was clean but little shower pressure with antiquated shower curtain. Smallest bathroom we have had, no ventilation and no shaving mirror. The excursions left much to be desired, booked a lunch on a Mississippi steam ship to find when we ...

What has happened to Cunard.—— 63 days Sydney to Southampton

This is our fifth cruise on the Queen Mary 2 and this last trip was 63 days long and I really think they have lost sight on what sort of ship they are trying to have. Refinement seems to have disappeared and has been replaced with indifference. There is no contact in Sydney and speaking to someone in the Phillipines about a problem in Brisbane could not be resolved as the person on the other end ...

As a World Club member my wife and I are familiar with the Cunard from previous Queen Elizabeth sailings and thought we would experience QM2. It was terrible ! Kings Court is like a downmarket cafeteria with poor food and passengers constantly pounding the promenade deck and watching you eat. Missed three ports - Darwin, Bali and Brunei. 9 days at sea. Bottle of wine as a goodwill ...

The voyage was bought in August 2017 for a February-March 2018 Sydney to Sydney via NZ, 13 nights. The itinerary date above says Auckland 9 nights, wasn't an option as Auckland was off the itinerary anyway and we had two days in Tauranga instead. I enjoyed the surprise birthday present in January and that followed through with the experience. From the Captain to the waiters and cabin staff, ...

Remastering a disappointment

This was our first cruise since the ship was refitted in late 2016, just after we did the Cape Horn cruise on her. Some things are better like the Stateroom décor, the Carinthia lounge is a great improvement on the Winter Garden. I feel though that the Kings court is a great big miss. The cool white marble type décor is not in synch with the rest of the ship which has a warm colour scheme. With ...

It's The Queen Mary

I thought the Queen Mary would be a luxury cruise. It was not! The food was terrible. Yes, it was fresh, but certainly not restaurant quality. It was VERY English! Thick gravy with everything. The toast for breakfast was uneatable. I requested sourdough or a think a toast slice of wholemeal... neither were available. The fruit was boring. There were no berries, no mango's, no paw paw and ...

This was our first cruise with Cunard for some years. It did not disappoint. It was part of a World Voyage and our 12 night cruise started in Fremantle and ended in Sydney. We flew to Perth from Manchester (3 flights). It was a long journey. We added 2 nights stay in hotels at both Perth and Sydney respectively. When we arrived at Fremantle Port the check in for the Queen Mary 2 was a breeze. We ...

We were not happy with this cruise. We have cruised dozens of times, but this was the first and last on Cunard. They cater to a group of loyal Cunard passengers, and do nothing for anyone else. The pro's: The cabin was nice. For the most part, the entertainment was very good. The embarkation was excellent. We received excellent service from our cabin steward and the Britannia Restaurant ...

We made a atlantic crossing 2016 with Cunard QM2 from Hamburg to New York. It was New York fashion week theme 9 day cruise. The Programm and Food was excellent. Our cabin and restaurant was Princess Grill Category. We were very happy with this cruise. Unfortunately this last Cunard cruise was not up to our expectations. We had again a Princess Grill Suite. Eating and dining was not very good, ...

My wife and I have just returned from the first two and a half legs of a QM2 world cruise. We were both in excellent health when we boarded this vessel but are now both suffering from coughs which we caught on QM2. I started coughing on 6th day of a 39 day cruise and although I paid to see the ships doctor the best he could do was offer a cough medicine, In Cape Town we did manage to get ...
