Good Dinner (Food and Service); Noisy Staterooms and Poor Facilities

My wife and I, together with 9 of our relatives, booked 5 adjacent balcony-staterooms for our recent cruise on Royal Caribean ("RC"). On the first night, we were woken up at 11.30pm by loud jumping and running noise above our cabin. We tried to put up with it till about 12.30 midnight before we called the guest service. Only after 3 repeated calls before 2 security officers came to our room. And ...

We are from Australia and cruised many times. We decided we would go on a short cruise as we were travelling in South East Asia. As it was only 5nights a inside cabin would be fine. We had cabin 8669. A long walk from the lift, good exercise but quiet. Boarding in Singapore is very organised, and on board at 11am. Notice as we entered that all rooms would be ready at 1pm. Lunch available. Great ...

We have cruised with many cruise lines enjoying 3-4 cruises a year. This time we wanted a short cruise to introduce our grandchildren to cruising. We had been on Mariner of the Seas for Christmas in 2013 with other members of our family including different grandchildren. For all members of our extended family this cruise on both occasions was highly successful. Our balcony staterooms were ...

We booked this cruise for the itinerary and enjoyed that. We flew to Shanghai the night before and stayed at the airport hotel. Slight problem checking in but it was fine for 1 night. The ship is showing it's age and could use some sprucing up. The crew were preparing to leave the ship as their contracts were all up and a new crew was boarding in Singapore. The "old" crew was selected for oriental ...

Mediocre cruise - not what I expected

This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I was disappointed for the following reasons: - embarkation in Shanghai was chaotic - it was difficult to find staff who knew which forms we had to complete and where the luggage should be left. - once on the ship, there was no one around to point us in the direction of the dining areas or our cabin. - the Windjammer (buffet dining area) was very ...

Our first cruise on a big ship. Previously did a short cruise with the small ships Captain Cook Cruise in Fiji. This cruise on the Mariner of the Seas was a try and see cruise for us. We flew business class with Garuda from Brisbane to Singapore with an annoying few hour stop over in the Bali (seats don't go flat and the wc is ridiculously small, you can't stand up straight, I'm 6ft 1 and a 1/2., ...

Dissapointing

Let's start with the embarkation in Shanghai: it took 2 hours and with this I rest my case on this subject. Cabins: average, nothing special. Food: the smell in Windjammer was awful and the food is of poor quality. There is plenty of choice, but if you have a little higher standard, pretty much nothing to choose from. We had dinner on deck 5, I can't remember the name of the restaurant, and the ...

This was our first ever cruise, decided on a short one just incase it didn't a agree with us. It did! ..okay there were a few hiccups with checkin , i believe it was the first cruise out of the new building at !arina Bay, however it was all exciting, the oppulance and granduer of the ship blew us away, stopping at a new port everyday in our oppinion is a must, we both agreed that days just at sea ...

My husband and I took our first cruise with RCI in November 2014. Sadly it will also be our last. There are other companies sailing the high seas who value their guests and this is not how we were made to feel on this cruise. The ship in itself was fine. Our cabin and steward were great. The restaurants and food were on the whole excellent. I say to people that the cruise companies are really good ...
