This was our 4th cruise and our 1st on Norwegian. We cruised on Carnival in 1991 and 2010 and on Royal Caribbean in 2012.
The Norwegian Dawn is an older ship but it was clean and had everything we needed. The area that was severely lacking was service but I’ll get to that later.
Embarkation went smoothly and quickly. We arrived about 1:00 pm and the state rooms didn’t open until 1:30 or ...
We really enjoyed our Maine and Canada cruise! Check in was easy and fast. Our interior cabin was a little cramped with the table that made it hard to get to one side of the bed. The bathroom was slightly better than Carnival with a glass sliding door which was nice! Less counter space than Carnival and not as much rack space. The bed was fine. Closet was fine. Less drawers than Carnival. ...
Involved no flights, was able to drive to Boston and the weather and pink sandy beaches in Bermuda! Received a text message while we were enroute to Boston that the itinerary had been changed to Canada and Maine due to weather. I live in NE and my corporate offices are in Halifax. I was packed for Bermuda. Food was nothing special. I got the drink package only to find out they were out of Michelob ...
We picked the Dawn because of the Garden Villa Suite. We had a total of 16 traveling with us and this ship provided the best living and deck space to get together each day. As with other reviews, the room was fabulous and the ship was good too.
Roal and Jairus, our concierge and steward, were the two that made the suite life sweet. There were no requests made that weren't met with "let me ...
Our cruise ship was suppose to go to Bermuda. Unfortunately, so was Hurricane Florence. Norwegian Cruise Line made the correct decision to divert our ship to New England and Canada. What a great cruise!! The weather was perfect in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. The seas were calm and the excursions were plentiful to select from. Halifax, Nova Scotia was amazing. We visited the Fairview Cemetery ...
I have had great experiences with Norwegian. We found the night before we were leaving that due to the hurricane our itinerary was NOT going to be Bermuda. We were disappointed but we did not that ruin our cruise. Our trip was paid for and we made the best of it.It is in the contract that they can change the itinerary. The ports in Canada we really nice and staff on the ship was great. Especially ...
While Norwegian has no control over the weather, thank you Florence, our trip to Canada that was supposed to be Bermuda wasn't a total washout.
I like the Dawn overall. The style and decor of the ship was very nice. It was easy to get around and it was exceptionally clean. As a smoker, I know just how nasty the smoking area can be, and even that was kept in tip top shape. Kudo's to the ...
Our itinerary was changed the morning of the cruise from Bermuda to Canada. We had no time to repack and were not prepared for this destination at all and the cruise line was rude, curt and less than accommodating in every way. Our room was extremely loud, it sounded as if they were working on the ship with a steel drum and hammer all through the night! I had to purchase ear plugs. The heat was on ...
I have traveled many times on cruise ships. However, this was my first time on NCL. I chose NCL because a group of friends were traveling on this ship to Bermuda. Before my trip I needed to get in touch with a representative of NCL and on both occasions it took over 40 minutes of being on hold before I reached someone. These two reps were very helpful, but who needs to be on hold for 40 minutes? I ...
Bermuda! Not to be. Boring Canada when still green is probably the worst of the worst. No time to research, shore excursions far pricier than original destination, staff was ready to leave for home (like we were). So sad to see many people get off boat when they reached Halifax (where they came from) and Sydney and New Brunsick, and Bar Harbor. I thought the Captain made an easy call and did ...
