Thought we could see some fall colors along the St Lawrence. That just does not happen, as you cruise too far from shore. Once we got to the Nova Scotia coast area, the trees were all still green, and the skies were gray.
Our biggest complaints however are the food, and public area layouts.
The food, with a couple exceptions, was just a step above a Denny's. In the main buffet the food ...
My husband and I had never seen the fall foliage, so we picked this cruise to see that and also how Norwegian and their freestyle dining worked. We loved the freestyle dining and being able to eat when and where we wanted. The shore excursions we booked on the ship were all great and interesting, and when the time of the ships's port arrivals changed, we didn't have to worry about our tours. ...
The cable tv was very very limited. It was mainly focused on selling the passenger more stuff. Purchasing the internet is a bad idea. Sporadic to say the least. The noise in the rooms from the upper level Garden restaurant was unbearable. It came from the movement of chairs , in and out all morning afternoon and night. The shows were mediocre. If the Tina Turner impersonator was good then I never ...
I chose this cruise mainly because I wanted to view the fall leaves and also end in Boston, where my son is now living. It was an opportunity to visit family as well as going to new places and learning a bit of history. I am not new to cruising, but I will say I have not had these experiences on any other cruises I have taken.
Norwegian Customer service staff is not helpful. My first tip ...
Where to start, and apologies in advance for the length of this but when you are spending this amount of money knowing the line and ship is critical. First, we are experienced cruisers having been on Holland American, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Viking and Brendan. This was our first and last cruise on NCL. It started before we sailed. We actually chose the cruise based on the Maritime ports we ...
My wife and I always wanted to see New England and Quebec Canada and had the best time ever. The Dawn had been very nicely updated and we were not disappointed at all. Our Mini Suite with balcony was very comfortable and roomy for a cruise ship. The Staff and service were outstanding and the food was the some of the best we ever experienced. Plenty of entertainment to choose from too. Only thing ...
My wife and I always wanted to visit Quebec City, but the surprising lack of an non-stop airplane from BOS to YQC made a long weekend by air too much trouble. So, illogically, we took a cruise instead. We live near Black Falcon Terminal, so did not need to deal with flights for our outbound let.
Because the cruise was during the school term and the destinations were along the New ...
We selected this cruise as an extension of our week stay in Boston, hoping to see some Fall color and planning to spend a week in Quebec after the cruise. Embarkation was crowded but went smoothly, we were having lunch less than an hour after arriving at the terminal. Our balcony room was midship on 10th deck. I made dinner reservations before the cruise and was able to change them during the ...
There were many older people on this cruise but everyone was nice and they knew how to have a good time. I would not recommend for younger crowd. The staff was wonderful which is the norm for NCL. I have cruised this line 6 times and each and every time have had a great experience. The shows were very good. The food was tasty and the portion sizes just right. We took a mid-ship inside cabin ...
NCL is always my first choice for cruising. I enjoy the freestyle dining ( dine at anytime you want, providing there is room). I particularly enjoyed the Sushi Bar ( not a freebie, but inexpensive and very good) on this ship. The cabin was always clean and tidy. The staff on board is always greeting you with a smile and a hello. The lounge entertainment is ok, not spectacular, but not horrible. ...
